Cleaning brushed nickel faucet?

We have very hard water and it leaves a white stain on our faucet in the bathroom. They are "trough" like faucets so the water sort of pools on the faucet spout. I try to clean them with regular cleaners and nothing works. I've tried vinegar and water but the stain remains. Any thoughts?

Re: Cleaning brushed nickel faucet?

  • I use a mixture of bubble bath (I use Avon but probably any kind will do) and water with a few drops of tea tree oil sprayed on and buffed with a micro fiber cloth and the marks come right off (it also works for our chrome fixtures). HTH

  • Our faucets are brushed nickel and i dip a cotton ball in rubbing alcohol and wipe the faucet and it takes out stains and dries instantly so there aren't any water marks left.

  • I have very hard water and I found that taking a soft cloth and 3M Extra Cut Rubbing Compound (auto supply shops--car detailing section) works amazingly!!!  Just lightly rub on. Flip cloth and buff off.  I sometimes even spray WD-40 on the faucet after using the 3M....keeps water spots from reappearing.
