I'm Homesick

It hit me last night. DH and I got into a tiff and I went to bed early. Then I started crying and wanting to go home. Back in Philly I would be able to call up a friend and meet her somewhere for a drink or just go over to her house and hang out and get my mind off of things. I felt so incredibly alone. No place to go. :-(

I'm a little better today... not great, but better.

Re: I'm Homesick

  • :(  I'm sorry...I'm sure it's going to be hard and will take time to adjust, but over the next few months, it'll get a little easier.  I'm not one to talk though, I've lived here my whole life.  I'm sure Flame will have better things to say...she's a transplant too.

Want to GTG for coffee or something next week?  This week is a little crazy w/my trip coming up on Friday.

Damn you Nest for screwing up my siggy!

  • I'm sorry!  It's hard to move to a new place, but I'm sure you will make plenty of friends.

I moved from here to Phoenix right after college and I was terribly homesick.  Eventually, I made a lot of friends there through work and school.  Then I moved back here after 8 years and I was homesick for Phoenix, even though I still had friends and family here...

I hope you feel better soon and it will get less lonely!

  • I've been her over a decade and I still get homesick.  I figure homesick is a normal part of life.

When I first moved here, I had astronomical phone bills.  It took a few years to develop really close friends who I would call when I was upset, I could grab a cup of coffee with, etc.  I figure I go for quality, not quantity.

Hang in there, it does bet better.
