Hey Lori!

I saw your question about TTC #2.  We actually tried actively for four months. Less than with Kai. I think his was 7 months.  We were trying for a girl this time, but I dont know if that worked because for a girl you are supposed to get it on when your Fertility Monitor is on High (not low or Peak). Well one day mine was low and the next Peak. lol Never had that happen before. I have always heard that TTC #2 is usually much quicker than #1.

I can tell you  (so far) this PG has been compeltely different. Right away I started throwing up with Kai. Literally. This time, I cant even tell I am PG except my boobs hurt and I did get nauseous I think when the ole sperm met the egg. I defintely knew before the tests were positive.

I take Kai to a playgroup and I see the moms with kids that are 1- 1.5 years apart. They look like they are loosing it.  Then I see the moms with kids maybe 2-3 years apart and they dont look so frazzled.  We were shooting for the 2-3 year mark. I am sure I will be loosing it too, but I can see that Kai has become more a little man than a baby in just the last 8 months. Its crazy.  I am now trying to prepare him for a "beebee". lol  I just wish I could prepare our doggies.

Btw- I still charted, used OPKs and used my fertility monitor.  My cycles were so different than last time ( I kept comparing DPO, etc).

  • Wow Amy...thanks for the info.  Like you, I also charted, used OPKS and my CBEFM!  Love the CBEFM!  My BFF just got her BFP last week for baby #2...her son turned 1 in August so they decided to start trying...well it happened quickly.  She's now stressing about having a newborn with a baby just to be turning two!  LOL!  It's good timing though, she'll be 38 in June.

I want to know about trying for a girl/boy depending upon the day of your cycle.  Joseph really wants to try for a boy for #2.

It's interesting that your cycles were different this time around...do you have any idea why?  It's all very interesting.  We plan to wait until Libby is about 18 months before we TTC #2.  Hopefully we won't have to try too long!

I have a twin brother and our younger brother is 16 months younger, so I know what it's like to grow up so close in age.  I cannot imagine being further apart like 4-5+ years, but that's me.

  • Hey again,

This website is wonderful. http://www.in-gender.com/cs/forums/15.aspx about trying to sway for a boy or girl. You can even find stats, types of foods for you and Joseph that prederence one gender over the other, etc.  I really had no idea how much stuff could determine a boy or a girl. I thought it was just the mans sperm to decide. Its facinating!

Is this your friend that got married to groomzilla? OMG that is so wonderful for her!
