Good Morning Ladies!

It looks like a board needs something to start out the week!

I've got a bit of news... it's 60 degrees here in Minnesota! Normally, it might be 30-40 with snow in the forecast by this time of year. So, we're enjoying our indian summer. How's the weather around the USA?

It might be a bit early to ask, but what our everyone's thanksgiving plans?

One last question for this morning. How early is too early to start listening to Christmas music? I'm already getting excited for it, but I don't want to start before Thanksgiving, because I think before it just too early:)

Have a great day everyone!

Re: Good Morning Ladies!

  • Hey! I started to respond earlier today but was not able to finish... so here we go.

Today I think it was in the low 80's today and super freakin' windy. It's been windy for the last 3 days... There is a tropical storm brewing out in the gulf, if we're lucky it'll turn and hit us- lol.. horrible, i know. but i need a hurricane day or something- unfortunatly the track is not forecasted to get anywhere near us. Not even sure we are going to get any rain.

We have no plans so far for thanksgiving- except for H's aunts house at 3-- i'm assuming thats on thxgiving day- not sure, i didn't hear the whole conversation.

i am not a fan of christmas music, so it always to early for christmas music. I am going to try and be more Christmas-y this year.

I found out today that we are actually going to be getting Christmas bonuses (yay!).. we didnt get our mid-year bonuses so it's kind of been up in the air if we would be getting Christmas ones-   I also found out that there are two categories for bonues- administrative & everyone else... I've always been in the everyone else (which was fine w/ me, i have always gotten $500 bonus.)

Well I was told today that I was moved to the administrative category, the dr told me this was good, and i'll appreciate it when i see my bonus.... sooo i was realy excited about that, but really nervous at the same time. I  used to go infront of my ofc mgr for my review, which was nothing.. but now I have to go in front of the Dr...which is not really a HUGE deal, i work closely w/ him every day, so it's not like he's this mythical character that we only see on occasion. we work with him every day... but its just intimdating. the other thing is that i have to give him a $ amount that I think I deserve! Seriously? How nerve racking. The ofc mgr and clinical coordinator told me they always tell him more then what he thinks.. he already knows, or has an idea of what he is going to give out, but he wants to know what we think of ourselves I guess...

My thing is i don't know what changed w/ my job between last yer and this year. i've been doing the same thing for the last 4 yrs... so im kinda at a loss... i guess i just have to sit down and really think about everything that I do, and come up w/ a number. Whew, i'm nervous.

    sorry that was kinda lengthy.

  • It's hot in Florida, but we are supposed to cool down tomorrow.  We'll see.

I'm very happy to announce that we will be spending Thanksgiving with my family.  My aunt wants to make dinner this year.  It will be their first in FL.  I'm very thankful that my uncle is around to celebrate this year after his massive heart attack at the beginning of the year.  I'm also thankful to be spending my sister.  With her starting her residency in the summer it will be the last time in a long while we have Thanksgiving.  I also can't wait to see my cousin who just got engaged.  I am so happy for her.

According to my godmother it is not to early for Christmas music.  I don't know why but I am so excited for Christmas this year.  I know, for me, I will hold out until after Thanksgiving to listen to the music.  There is a girl on my local board who has already put up her Christmas tree!

  • Jena - wow, I think having to give a suggestion for my own bonus would also be an intimidating thing. I hope your review goes okay, and I hope you get a bigger bonus than last year. Good luck thinking through all of that!

Kelly - sounds like your holiday plans are nicely in order. I'm sure it will be a wonderful thanksgiving.

About the girl who has her chirstmas tree up.. now, that is just too early. I love Christmas as much as anyone, but I think you've got to wait until after thanksgiving for the tree. We generally always wait until the start of December. I was thinking maybe our lights would go up anytime (because the weather is actually not freezing) and then we'd just wait to turn them on.

    Have a good Tuesday everyone!

  • It's been really warm here too.  Nioce when you are outsider but, yep, still misery in my office.  *sigh*

Thanksgiving will be with my family this year.  DH and I will be driving up that morning (3+ hours) and staying until Saturday evening. Hoping to see lots of family and a couple of HS friends while we are there since I won't be able to go up again for Christmas (too close to my due date to travel that far from my hospital).

I think you should start listening to Christmas music whenever you feel like it!!! There is one station here that is playing it 24 hours already but, with this warmer weather I'm just not ready for it yet.
