Lets share our favorite holiday memories! Christmas, Fourth of July, whatever your fav. holiday memory may be.
I've got two fav. holiday memories. My first is going over to my Nana's to make cut out cookies. Every year we get board while icing the cookies and come up with some 'unique' cookies. Last years top pick was my bros gf at the time broke a roudolf (sp?) and made what looked like a mounted dear head with another cut out cookie. It was priceless.
My second fav. memory was the year I got a plane ticket for christmas. My BFF moved to Florida when we were in 5th grade. Every year we saved up our babysitting money and either she would fly to OH or I would fly to FL. Well one year while we were in high school it was looking like I wasn't going to be able to head to FL and she wasn't going to be able to come to OH. Low and behold on Christmas morning there was a plane ticket in the Christmas tree. I cried, made my mom cry and was soooo excited! haha That has got to be the best gift I've recieved.
Re: A fun holiday poll to get the board going
Well then. I guess no one's in the mood for a Holiday poll today. I guess it might be a bit early considering its not even Thanksgiving yet.
I have a memory...Not that is a good one! but a memory! haha
One year my brother and I decided to look at our Christmas gifts while my parents went to a party. Well they found out and threatened to take everything back! We were so sad. Well they didn't take anything back and we got to open our gifts even tho we already knew what we got. What made it so special...And I didn't find this out until 1 year ago is that my grandma provided all the gifts that year. My dad had lost his job and she bought us our gifts. That was so special and a Christmas I'll never forget!
My favorite holiday memories are going to my grandma's house on Christmas Eve like we have always done and Santa coming to the house every year to give us a small gift and a candy cane! There were 6 of us grandkids who were all pretty young and I guess my grandma would pay a neighbor or someone to dress up as Santa and come to the house to hand out the gifts/candy. We would be SO excited! I don't think I know who that was who would come as santa, I should probably ask that question!!
Another favorite memory is when my other grandma made thanksgiving dinner for us and burnt the turkey... it is the funniest memory that I have!
