Re: Do you get the Flu shot?

  • I typically don't get the flu shot. I did this year because my work provided it to anyone that wanted it.

  • I always seem to get more sick when I get the flu shot but this year I decided to get it bc of the swine flu. I'm actually getting it this afternoon!
  • Ahh, my post got eaten!

I used to get it, and I always got the flu. Then I stopped getting it, and I stopped getting the flu.  I was thinking about getting it because of H1N1- I have lots of upper respiratory problems every year- but H had H1N1 and I didn't catch it, so I'm thinking I'm going to avoid the vaccine and hope for the best!

  • No. I've never gotten a flu shot and have never gotten the flu. And no one in the house is getting the H1N1 either. The kids did get the reg flu shot though.
  • In recent years I've gotten the flu shot and it does seem to make a difference for me. I got mine this year, but not the H1N1. I was going to but they're being restrictive about who can get it.
  • I'm not.  I got the seasonal flu vax a couple of times and those are the only years I ended up with bronchitis.  The years I don't get the vax, I never get more than a cold, if that.  (knock on wood) I've never had influenza that I can recall.  I am nervous about H1N1 being more serious among the "healthy" but after a nice long appointment with Dr. Sears (Bob), I'm more comfortable in my decision to not vax.  I have a list of supplements that I need to order still.
