WWYD re: applying for job
So... there's a job posting at my work that I am *almost* qualified for, LOL. It's been on the internal posting board since July, still unfilled.
I am a temp, and have been a temp here for 5 years. The job posted is for a permanet, FT position. Better pay, MUCH better benefits.
One of my coworkers brought the posting to my attention, my asst mgr said I should "go for it", without me asking and my manager gave me advice on applying and told me I should try if I want to be a permanent employee.
But... DH & I are hoping that if his business takes off, I will be able to stay at home & work for him PT.
Both of us would prefer me being a SAHM.
Oh, I should mention that with my current supervisor I have a TON of flexibility, which is especially important now that I have DD, and now that I am supporting DH with his business. There's no guarantee that a different supervisor would give me the same flexibility.
I'm leaning towards staying here. But is it stupid to not apply for a permanent position when I have my supervisors' blessings & encouragement?
WWYD?
TIA!
Re: WWYD re: applying for job
Toughie, but I agree with PP... I would at least apply! God forbid something would happen with DH's business where it wouldn't take off like expected and you have to keep your job longer than expected it would be great to have the additional benefits and income coming in. The flexibility issue would be the kicker for me, but those are odds you will have to weigh once you know more about the new position.
