So I stepped on the scale to try and estimate how much DS weighs today (about 12 lbs). When I did it seems that I have gained 5 lbs in the last 3-4 weeks! How is that possible? We walk for about 45 min. 4-5 times a week. I am on my feet with him most of the day and I am bfing!
I didn't gain much weight during my pregnancy, which meant I was 15 lbs under me pre-pregnancy weight just after Evan was born. How would I gain this back?
I am bummed.
Re: Bummed...
3-4 lbs isn't much, I fluctuate that much in a month, so don't get discouraged yet!! Maybe you were down more just after birth because you were dehydrated. It's the long term trend that matters, not day to day or even week to week.
That being said, I find that exercise doesn't help me much as far as weight goes, it's all about what I eat. It takes a long walk to burn 240 calories but only 30 seconds to eat a chocolate bar. Exercise is really good for the heart and the body but not necessarily in helping with weight.
Maybe you can think about what you have been eating and try to cut out junk (if you eat any) and smaller portions or no second helpings if you can. I imagine it's really difficult to resist temptation when BF'ing because you're probably really hungry. good luck, I think weight is something a lot of us struggle with!!!
Also remember if you're walking that much and havent noticed tight clothing it could be that you're building muscle - which weighs more than fat!
So you could look thinner but weigh more...
I'm gonna go with this one.
Thanks for all the supportive words ladies.
