Job Update
So, a lot of you have seen my big announcement on FB on Monday: I was finally offered a job! I have informally accepted the position - I am still waiting for them to complete my credit and background check (I've never even had a speeding ticket and my credit score is excellent, yet I am still nervous about this lol) and to send me the formal offer in writing to sign off on, but other than that it's a done deal.
They want me to start next week, so I'm trying to relax and really enjoy myself this week (made easy by the fact that we're housesitting for my aunt and uncle outside Boston this week in their gorgeous secluded house on a river, complete with large HDTV and fireplace).
The most exciting thing about this is yes it means we get to start looking for an apartment in the city and move out from my ILs!!!! Phew. They also offered much more than I had anticipated salary-wise. I'll be making 2/3 more than I made at my last job, which is great, because we all know how $$$ NYC can be. There may be a new work clothes shopping spree in my immediate future! But I can tell I'm going to work very very hard for it: long hours, and lots and lots of busyness to come...

Congrats! I start next Monday too! Isn't funny how oddly stressful the credit check and background check can be. You know you are fine but you instantly think of the worst case scenario. Like someone stole your identity and got tickets and racked up the credit card debt.
I am planning some major shopping too. There is something about new, fresh clothes that make you feel so much better.

I know, the credit/bg check thing is so weird...I literally just checked my credit three weeks ago just to make sure there was nothing amiss yet I am still slightly worried for absolutely no reason. When we got FBI criminal checks to get our Greek visas I was also totally worried...and like I say I've never even had a speeding ticket! It's like I was worried I was arrested in my sleep or something.
