We paid off Mike's car yesterday! I can't believe it! 3 years early!
The cc's got paid off a few months ago and now we just use one and pay it off the same month to collect the points (which we've never used...not sure what Mike plans to do w/them). I sent off the app. for my student loan consolidation on Sunday, so if that goes through (I may have sent it too late), my car should be paid off w/in the next ~2 years and then we'll start attacking both our student loans. Hooray!!!
Damn you Nest for screwing up my siggy!

Re: Being a complete AW
woo-hoo! That's the best feeling ever.
If you want to be a big accounting nerd, you can run an amortization table and see how much interest you saved.
what... too nerdy? I'm sad to admit that DH and I have one for our mortgage.

GREAT job! It's so nice not having those bills hanging over your head, huh!
(yeah yeah I did it a backasswards way, but what do you do when you don't have a job, blah)
Congrats! It is a great feeling, isn't it? I love not having a car payment.
Congrats!!!! That's awesome.
I use my credit card points for a credit against my statement every so often. We do the same thing - use it for points and pay it off each month.
I'm not in accounting...but I have an amortization table for our house.... So we'll say not it's too nerdy. Of course I'm a lawyer so i think I have the nerd factor anyway....
Congrats Val! It's an amazing feeling paying something off.
I too keep amortization schedules for both our cars and track interest saved on credit cards. I'm a numbers geek.
