Thursday Confessions

Confessions? Put 'em here!

Yes its  only 6am, and I am up, as usual. I have to work today at 7:30.

My Confession is that I am scared. I went to the doc last week for my flu shot and a xray of my foot which had been bothering me for a few weeks. They couldn't find anything on the Xray and the foot pain has pretty much stopped.

But, while I was there the doctor asked how long I had been dealing with the laryngitis. I said that's pretty much always the way my voice is, since I started teaching in 2005 its been like that on and off. Working around kids I almost always have a minor cold, but even without that, I have to force my self to speak louder.

I try to drink more water, but that doesn't really help.

So today I am going for a laryngoscope. The doc at the on call clinic thinks I might have polyps or something...

I know when I was in 2nd grade, we had to read out loud from our readers and I had the laryngitis pretty bad then too. The teacher suggested to my mom that I get allergy tests, and that was when we found out I was allergic to chocolate, cheese, dust and feathers. I had allergy meds (pills and shots) over the course of the next 4 years, until when I was 12 they told me I had outgrown the food allergies. (Thank goodness for being allowed to have chocolate during puberty).

I wonder now tho, if the too much dairy is causing the laryngitis.... I don't really pay much attention to it, but I love my cheeses and chocolates, and ice cream and sour cream..... LOL (thats why I weigh 250 pounds too but thats a whole other discussion!)

Anyway, I hope that the laryngoscope is painless and that if they find something it isn't something really bad.

Send out nestie vibes for me around 1:30 Eastern time OK.

I'll let you all know how it went.

~Jenny~

Re: Thursday Confessions

  • Jenny, I'll be thinking about you.  The laryngoscope is pretty painless, it feels weird though.  I had the same problem with loosing my voice all the time, but I wasn't able to talk at all when it happened, not even whisper.  I was diagnosed with acid reflux disease.  Nothing major. The thing that sucked for me was out of no where the night I had it done I had a fever, was vomiting.  I went to the ER the next day had a battery of tests and they couldn't find anything wrong.  The chalked it up to being scoped the day before (I went to the ER my mom used to work in so the doc and all the nurses knew her.  The doc pulled her aside and told her that if my white blood cells came back even the slightest bit elevated I was getting a spinal tap.  Thankfully I didn't have to have that done).  Still don't know what caused that, but I was able to get the acid reflux under control and I really haven't lost my voice since.  I'm hoping it's something simple like that for you.

I really don't have anything to confess except maybe the usual:  I don't want to work.  I'm tired, I'm bored but I love my job.  I'm also glad that I only had to deal with my boss for a day and a half this week.  He was not in the best mood and I don't like dealing with him when he's like that.

  • Well I just got back from my store opening and it was a lot of fun and I got to meet and hang out with some fun people... hoping to do another one in the future.?

I confess that I am SO glad to be home. I left last Thursday and got home yesterday at 10 pm... and I am turning around and leaving again today when KEvin leaves for work, because I am going to my friends for the weekend. Kevin was supposed to come with me, but it turned out he has to work this weekend (but yay! overtime!). As happy as I am to be home, I am super excited to see my friends this weekend. Its a nice break before the holiday rush and late hours.

I also confess that (TMI WARNING) we had ah-mazing sex last night. Kevin's really been missing me while I was gone. I was missing him too, but I was hanging out with people every night, while he was going home to an empty apartment. But anyhoo, seriously. It was so good. He even lit candles. Adorable. I would go away again just for the homecoming. Haha. ?

this made me giggle! That is so sweet.... Chris just attacks me, there is nothing sweet about it. I doubt candles or romance every cross his mind! That was sweet of Kevin! I'm jealous!

Were you gone for a week? I was confused about the time you were gone. The longest ive ever been gone is a weekend. Maybe ive never been gone long enough for him to bust out the romantic stuff. Hmm.

  • Happy Friday! I really have no confessions. I'm ready to get outta work and go run. The weather has been pretty nice this week, cool, not outta control hot. Today the high is in the 80s, which is "cool".

I paid off 2 credit cards last night, and that made me very happy! =)  Hopefully this helps our chances in being able to buy a house as soon as Transunion has Chris' credit report updated. I check online every day to see how many items have already been completed. 12 out of 19 so far, and I called this morning and they've corrected his name and address, yay!

The dr I work for found out we are looking for a house, lol. Which is not really a problem except for the fact that we are looking about an hour away from where I currently work. ... he kinda just looked at me funny and is like "Wait, are you leaving us?".. Uhmmmmm, yes?   Then my ofc mgr tells me today she is going to make me sign a contract that I have to stay another year (she is kidding).... I said i'll probably stick it out until August because that is when i'll be done w/ school. It would be silly to move, find a new job, finish school, find another new job. So. yah.

What is everyone doing this wknd?

  • Yea I left last Thursday and stayed over at my parents, then my mom, grandmother and I drove down to my aunt's house in PA (about 6 hours away) to be with her (its her husband that died). Then I left there on Saturday and drove the rest of the way to Virginia and stayed there to work. Then I just left VA yesterday and drove all the way back home to NY.?

  • meag, I'm jellous of the amazing sex!  Between Scott being afraid to hurt the baby and me being on bed rest we haven't had too much.  Although, last weekend we had pretty damn good sex that Scott said would probably be the last time because he is so scared of hurting the baby.  I told him he better get it while he can because at our next appt if my cervix is still short there is a chance that there is no sex for the rest of this pregnancy.  His response, he groaned!
  • These sex posts are cracking me up.... i'm that immature =)  I have no really great sex stories..well i have one, but it might be TMI... it resulted in me going to the pharmacy to get the plan B... lol.  In other sex related news, i am going back on my birth control, because of above mentioned trip to the pharmacy. i'd rather just be on BC then have to worry about condoms and all that mess....

  • Kel

The doc said I have acid reflux too, but I also have a polyp. He started me on nexium and I have to see a speech therapist for a few sessions so I can learn to project my voice without straining it. (so hard to do as a teacher...)

I am not allowed to talk this weekend.... also very hard to do but I am writing notes to hubby on paper and laptop.

I will keep you all updated on what happens.

  • Jenny so glad it's nothing major.  I was supposed to see a speech therapist too, but they wanted me to relearn how to talk.  My insurance co. wouldn't cover it so I never went.
