So my work stopped buying us lunch this week, and i've been on my own. I should be bringing my lunch, but DH and i haven't had the time to go grocery shopping and we're gone all next week.
I had to drop something off to a friend who works nearby so i stopped at a Pax afterwards and got a turkey/bacon/cheese Pressata (like a quesadilla but with thicker bread). It said that it was $6.45...hm...okay, a bit pricy, but i'm starving! And if i don't finish all of it, i can save it for dinner.
*BUT THEN I SEE HIM CUT IT IN HALF!!!!!* I almost turned around and walked away. But then i remembered that i work in Midtown...and this makes me sad and upset...and poort.
Seriously, Pax deli, you're going to charge me *$6.45* for *half* of a Pressata?! How dare you!!

Lunch in midtown does really does suck. But you can find some good cheap places if you get resourceful. I love the blog midtown lunch (http://midtownlunch.com/) for ideas on good cheap eats in midtown Manhattan. Also, check out my lunch post below. I got a great sandwich for a little over $7 from a new bakery in between 47th & 48th off of 6th Ave. There are also some great standbys in our area like Minar (great cheap Indian on 46th & 6th) and Dunhill for cheap homemade sandwiches (45th & 6th) and Caf? Manhattan (45th btwn 5th & 6th) has an amazing eggplant parm on amazing flatbread. Yum.
