WHY DO I HAVE ZITS!!!!!!!!???????????

OMG I'M NOT 15 ANYMORE!!!!!!!!!  GO AWAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My God it's horrible!  Honestly this all started almost two years ago.  Neutragena discontinued the face stuff I'd been using for YEARS and I've never found anything that works as well.  For awhile I was using Acne-Free but *suddenly* I'm allergic to it.  WTF?

My forehead is the worst.  Next worse is the left side of my face.  sigh.

I need something strong.  Oxy 10, Clearasil, Acne Free, Proactive, Clean and Clear, and Cetaphil haven't worked.

I'm *this close* to asking my doctor for something.  I'm on Ortho Tri-Cyclen (first month) but I was on it before I got PG and it really didn't do any good.

HELP ME!!!!  Please?

Re: WHY DO I HAVE ZITS!!!!!!!!???????????

  • Ok. Breathe.  The more stressed you get, the more you're going to break out.  It definitely sounds like you've tried the over-the-counter products. It may be time to consult your doctor.  I've struggled with acne for years--believe me, I understand your frustration!  There's lots of topical meds a dr. can order for you--Retin-A comes to mind for one. They can try antibiotics like tetracycline or minocycline (all of these will make you supersensitive to the sun).  I was also thinking--I think you have a little one at home and are most likely superbusy, but have you tried getting a facial somewhere?  That might help too. Best of luck--hang in there, it'll get better!
  • I know the stronger the stuff I use the more I break out.  I'm kinda half allergic to a ton of stuff and it all makes me break out.  I've had lots of good luck with the origin products. They seem to have less chemicals in them that irritate my skin.  Irritated skin breaks out more than not irritated skin.

Also for an on the spot treatment that I have found that works the best is tea tree oil. You can nomrally find it in the natural supplements aisle. It works wonders for me.  If nothing else has helped this might also help.

  • I know how you feel!!  I used to have the same problem.  It was so bad, one of my friends asked me if I had the chicken pox.  My skin was really bad when I was in college and working at CVS and some random guy that I was checking out told me that I should put my pee on my face and that would clear it up.  I didn't try it.

I feel like once my acne starts up, nothing will make it go until I go to the dermatologist and he prescribes something for me.

My favorite cleanser was this Eucerin acne cleanser.  It was awesome, but now it's discontinued.  Now I've been using Aveeno and it's really been working for me.

    Good luck!!!!
  • I suggest paying a visit to the dermatologist.  I use a topical called Duac and it seems to really help.  How often do you wash your face?  You may also need to check out some different cleansers and toners.  I used to use Exuviance (really like!!) and just recently switched to Glycone and really like that, as well.  (These were both dermatologist recommended)  Some of these products are a little bit more cost wise ($15-$20 for cleanser), but I would rather pay that than to freak over acne (which I was doing once I stopped BCP).  Good Luck!!
