SoCal girls...anyone adopt a family for Christmas?

I have not yet found a church here that I like, and I have not been able to yet find another outlet to find a place where we can adopt a family for Christmas. Any recommendations? My office building does a toy drive, but I was really hoping for something more personal.

TIA!

  • I received this via my mom's club. I've opted to "adopt" two children but you can sponsor a family. Feel free to call email Joana or call her and let her know that a mom's from the mom's club of Beverly Hills South has referred you if you want more information. Pico Union Family Preservation Network. We work with families from the Department of Children and Family Services with the primary goal to keep kids out of foster care. We are in desperate need for people to "adopt"(sponsor)  children for the holiday season and make sure that each child receives TWO presents for Christmas.  If you are interested in sponsoring a child or family please let me know.

You can either wrap the gift or we will do it, we want to collect no later then two weeks before christmas to ensure delivery on time. I can either arrange a pick up or I am thinking of having a few drop off locations. Just let me know if you can sponsor a child, I will assign one to you. You can sponsor 1, 2 etc or a family toghether. Just let me know you preference in how many kids and ages.

You can reach me at joana.rodriguez@ yahoo.com if you are interested or call at 213-742-6059 office.

  • Last year I did it through my local boys and girls club, in so cal.  I simply contacted them and was provided with the name, address, and wish list for a needy family.

  • Children's Hospital Los Angeles has a program called Holidays From the Heart.   I started looking into it last year, but I was a bit late in the game, so I just ended up making a monetary donation online.
