Life Insurance

What company do you have your life insurance through?

We currently have our renters and car insurance through Allstate and have talked to them about life but H wants to shop around first.

Re: Life Insurance

  • I used selectquote.com to choose my provider. They'll send you quite a few policies from different companies to choose from.
  • I highly, highly recommend Zander insurance.

They will provide you with quotes from dozens of companies. This is who we use and is the company Dave Ramsey endorses.

  • Ditto selectquote.

  • DH and I both buy ours through our jobs b/c their prices are the cheapest around.  The downside is that we'd each have $0 insurance if we quit, lost our jobs, etc.

  • My policy is with American General Life. I got the policy through matrix direct. DH's is through Unum, but it's through his work so we need to get him more coverage b/c if he were to leave this job he'd pay through the nose for not a lot of coverage.
  • We use State Farm for everything.  Brad just got a million dollar LI policy and we only pay $50/mo for it.

I'd be careful on going with no-name insurance companies...you never know what kind of company it is or how helpful they are until you have to cash in on your policy.

  • Your husband is right! Shopping around is the only way to ensure you get the life insurance policy that best suits your needs.

If you have to shop around, I would suggest using an online life insurance quotes aggregator like Accuquote.com. The process of looking for life insurance quotes online is much faster and more transparent than going through agents who?ll likely suggest policies from companies they work with.

Additionally, you?ll get several quotes to choose from as well as valuable information about the financial standing and ratings of the life insurance companies quoted.
