I know I was supposed to post this last week but it slipped my mind. Sorry!
It appears that the general consensus is Sat, Dec 12 in the afternoon is the date that works best for everyone. Since ultimately, we'll need to send things such as home addresses and phone numbers, it's probably best if we do that via email. I've made a note if I don't have your email address; can you please send it to me? Here's who I've heard from:
Shoe
Christen
Jenn
bboe
joeysgirl (I need your email address)
tigerfan
ms*girl (I need your email address)
MT
Nikki
MrsD
Ali
LAWife (I need your email address)
amandah1011 (I need your email address)
Jamie
cakpeterson (I need your email address)
MrsSpell
Cissy
Belle
If anyone is not on this list and would like to be, just let me know. It's a board wide invitation. ![]()
MrsD has graciously offered to host it at her home which is fan-farking-tastic b/c she has cute kids.
IDK if we want to do a cookie exchange or an ornament swap. Some people have expressed interest in both. I'm honestly not sure how a cookie swap goes so if someone could enlighten me...
I can do a poll but honestly, I don't want to force anyone into doing something they don't want to do. Especially since we will all just end up eating and gossiping anyway!
So here's what I guess I need to know from those interested in attending:
Does Dec 12 in the afternoon still work for you?
Thoughts on cookie exchange v ornament swap v doingwhateverthehellwewant?
MrsD -- What time is best for you on that date?
Here's my email if I left something out or if you just want to send love/hate mail: shoefanatic614 at gmail dot com
Re: Dec GTG!
Dec. 12th works for me.
I like the ornament exchange idea...but cookies are good too. Yeah, i'm no help here.
I'll PM you my email address.
Yeah, we don't have to do any kind of exchange. As long as there's food haha, I'll be there!
Shoe, I'm about to PM you.
Edit: If you want to know about a cookie swap, basically everyone brings enough cookies so that each person can have 2-3 of each. We bring our own boxes or whatever and have a bunch of different cookies to bring home. One of the bloggers on WC does this around the holidays and here's her post about it!

I will be unable to participate in the swapping of the cookies since I can't take any back. I too am coming to see everyone.
December 12th works. We have the Christmas thing from 10-3, but I planned on leaving about 12 which puts me getting home around 12:30ish. I'll get everything done the night before so all I have to do is come home and do little last minute stuff ... like send the husband away
Really anytime after about 1 is good for me.
Exchanging cookies/ornaments is fine with me, but if we can't decide we could just get together without any kind of exchange ... just enjoy each others company. Maybe a White Elephant w/a $10 limit could be fun if everybody really wants to do something. There is no telling what this crazy group would bring for that. I'm just really excited to meet everyone!!!!
What about food and drink?? And should I be sending you directions to my home for you to send to everyone?
I'm going to email you when I get home from class tonight.
I like Christen's idea that everybody could bring one dish/drink. That way you don't have to worry about making enough food for 15 hungry girls!
sounds good to me.
Ditto!
I can't eat the cookies, but I brought them home to DH last year and he was in love. I made pralines though
I can bring some sort of snack or something too.
Dec 12 works out perfectly for us b/c we will already be in BR. DH's dad's bday is the 12th and we're doing a little party later that evening. The timing is perfect!
It completely slipped my mind that the 12th is the annual "Lights in the Heights" party in Houston. My BFF and her fiance have a huge party at their house that Saturday night, and we've already promised to be there.
Dammit. I really was looking forward to meeting y'all.
