A few of you have asked for belly pics. Here's the reason I have none to share, I am barely showing. I am just about 20 weeks along, and I am barley showing. Most people cannot tell, it just looks like I gained a little weight. No cute bump like the rest of you. So, I just am a little sad/embarrassed that I don't have a little bump to share, and I am jealous of those of you who are showing. There is my semi-confession. I am living vicariously through Shoe, and the bump I wish I had.
Re: Confession, sort of...
I know what you mean. I didn't look like I was 37+ weeks when I had either of my babies. I looked more like 12 weeks. I was so jealous of those girls with big baby bellies ... I so wanted one. But I'm sure you'll "pop" here soon and get that cute belly.
I hope so! I am at the point where that's what I want. I was talking to my mom and she said she was tiny with all four of her pregnancies. She said it would be almost time for her to deliver, and people would believe her. People thought she was only 4 -5 months along. So I guess it's genetics.
Oh, the irony...
I love my bump, I really do, but I could cry every time I hear someone gasp and say, "are you sure you're not having twins? you're going to be SO HUGE by March!" And when I am naked in my bathroom, looking in the mirror (you know you like that mental image!), I swear it looks more like I have a beer gut than a baby belly. I am secretly jealous of the girls (ahem, you) who are tiny and will be able to wear their pre-pregnancy jeans home from the hospital. I had to put those away when I was 9 or 10 weeks. I know I'm going to have trouble losing baby weight and getting what little shape I had back.
Pros and Cons to both sides, we always want what we don't have. I don't think you look "twin" big, I would say you're right on track. I went to a new primary care doctor today, and she said, "20 weeks, are you sure?" People just don't believe it, haha. I have come to accept it though, that's the way it is. Who knows maybe I will wake up in a couple of weeks and look huge haha.
True story.
I have no doubt you look fabulous, Ali! I can't wait to see you for the Christmas party.
