I am trying to work on DH's Christmas present and was thinking of doing something for him in memory of his Dad who passed away about 8 years ago suddenly from a heart attack. A few years ago we got my Dad a star named after our dog and he was really touched by that, so I am looking for something along those lines, but I'm not sure I want to do a star....does anyone know of anything similar? TIA!

These are general ideas - I don't know of anywhere specific to do them, but I'm sure they exist...
You could plant a tree in his memory (or make a donation to have one planted)
Or you could make a donation to something that his dad cared deeply about and they may have markers, etc. to say that the donation was in his memory.
I think a donation to his Dad's favorite charity would be nice. If you wanted to get something for your DH personally I know one of my favorite things I have is a photo of my Dad and me when I was an infant enlarged and put into a nice frame (my Dad passed away suddenly as well 8 years ago). I keep it on my bedside table.
