Can someone tell me

what on earth the "Mark All As Read" button does?  It's like that one light switch in your house you can't figure out what it's connected to.

Re: Can someone tell me

  • I'm assuming once they get the bolding/unbolding to work showing new posts, if you Mark All Read they will all appear unbolded (until another new post is made).

  • I'm assuming the same thing as arb.
  • Except the button is only visible when you're IN a post.  If it was on the board, I'd think it does what you described.  But since it's inside a post, it leaves me bewildered.

  • Well then apparently it's just there for redundancy.

  • Yea, that's weird then.
  • I think I may have found a use for it - currently if a post has multiple pages, from the main board page, you can click on the time the last post was made (i.e. 1 minute ago, 1 day ago, etc.) and it will take you to the last page of the post, but it won't unbold the title on the main page.  However, if you click Mark All As Read, it will unbold the title. It would be nice if it would do that automatically regardless of how you open the post, but for the time being it's a nice resolution to that annoyance.

Good to know about the jump to the last post option!  I wish there were page numbers to click on, but this helps too.

  • Yeah -- I'm on a board that frequently gets multiple paged posts (especially now that the number it takes to get to page 2 is about half what it was before), so the fact you can't click on each page from the main screen is a giant pain.
