baby bath robes. Seriously? Elise got like four of these pointless wonders and sure, they're cute. But you bathe your baby then you wrap them in a towel to dry them, then get them dressed. You don't bring your damp baby around the house for a while in a bathrobe. The only time we used this product was when we'd go swimming and would sit by the pool after, she wore one.
Also, someone got her a rain coat. For a one year old. Yes it is cute. But what mother in her right mind is going to let her one year old prance about in the rain?? You carry them under the umbrella.
So these are pointless gifts, thought I'd enlighten ya'll!

Re: here's what NOT to give as a baby gift
sorry but I'm really snickering here.
LOL a trophy?? that's some good stuff!!
I would not even know what to say to that...they may have gotten the side eye from me haha
::dies::
Christen, I have often thought the same thing about the little robes. Who puts their newborn baby in a bathrobe?!
It's nto though, I'm sorry but with X-mas coming up this is just a huge pet peeve of mine. How many resources were used to make that? Then someone spent gas either picking it up or having it shipped. Also let's talk about the fiscal aspect. It's such a waste! It's not the thought I feel it's thoughtless.
::steps off soapbox::
Lol! How strange!
I agree, bathrobes are pointless!
LOL I understand how they're cute and all, but glad we could educate you!
While I would never buy my 1yo a bath robe or a raincoat, I think it's a great gift! The trophy on the other hand...

Soooo, you wouldn't buy it for your own kid due to what I assume are practicality reasons but it's ok to buy it for someone elses child?
::scratches head::
So you've never gotten anything as a gift that you said, "Wow. I would have never bought this for myself. But this is great!"??

Sure I have. But this isn't about an adult gift. I'm just confused as to why you would buy something for another kid that you wouldn't want for your own kid.
Unless you're saying that you would want one but you'd just rather receive it from someone else?
This.

Mental note made.
I bought my one year old a raincoat and she wears it often. I've thought about buying her a bathrobe, but haven't been able to do it. I wouldn't mind if she got one for Christmas though! She had one as an infant, and she never wore it once even though it was adorable. I think it's different now that she runs around so much.
