OK, now what are you thankful for?
I need to look at the positive side of life too.
For me, it's the basics: I'm grateful for my health, the health of my family and loved ones, having great friends (and especially having been able to keep up with the friends we left behind on the west coast), and being able to afford the roof over our heads even though we're just living off of DH's income now. I'm better off than a lot of people and I try not to forget it.
I'd rather be rock climbing or playing volleyball

Re: OK, now what are you thankful for?
I am thankful for a lot. Besides the basics (good health, family, friends, job) I am thankful...
that the commuter rail has been on time and with working heat recently (hope I don't jinx it!)
for my external hard drive, which has all of my photos and music stored on it, and that my computer died slowly so that I was able to back everything up before it went.
that my DH let me watch Gossip Girl on Monday night when I know he would have very much prefered to watch MNF.
baker, you made me laugh twice
Gossip Girl instead of MNF? Wow, your DH is a keeper! And I love the food allergy comment--I'm right there with you! Sometimes it amazes me that I'm not 300 lbs.
jCam, I'll just say
--you can DD now!
I'm thankful for the health of my family and me and my pets, for being able to afford a place to live, food, and luxuries, and for all the happy times I've had over the past year. I'm also thankful to have such a great DH, wonderful family and fabulous friends. I'm thankful for the great thanksgiving dinner I'm going to consume next week! I'm thankful I have not yet, knock on wood, gotten sick this cold & flu season (please don't jinx). And I'm thankful DH and I are on the same page with making some drastic life changes in the near future, to hopefully add to our happiness, take away some stresses, and feel like we are finally settled down. I am thankful for red wine and cheese and other small pleasures. I am not thankful for the elevated cholesterol the cheese brings.
I am also thankful to anyone who just read that really long paragraph-sorry!
Thanks!
I'm also thankful for the basic things, Dh and I are better off than a lot of people our age and I try not to forget it..
And I'm thankful that my grandfather's surgery went well and they removed all of the cancer!
OH, and I'm thankful for all of you on this board!
This year? Just about everything. I thought long and hard about this last week and really am very thankful for our lives right now.
To name a few: My fantastic DH, my job, DH's job, health insurance, our nice little apartment, never going to sleep hungry, all of the new friends we have made in Charleston, our families, who drive us nuts but are supportive and loving, and my healthy dog.
I'm thankful that all the huge things I've had to do this past year are almost done. Graduated, got a job, moved, bought a house, moved again, got married, and am surviving. The only thing left is to sell my condo!
I can't give thanks for anyone's health, because I'm too afraid that'll jinx it. Most of my loved ones are pretty precarious, health-wise. ?
