Michaels sucks!
I am making these cupcakes for my nephew's birthday party this weekend. My friend made them and went through all the hassle of printing, cutting, and glueing together the fry bags and trays. Not me. I figure, I'll hit up Michaels, they're bound to have something I can use. Nope. Nuthin'! Not even close! They also didn't have...ahem...wait for it...round cookie cutters! Nope! Not a one. They also didn't have green or yellow food colouring! And it wasn't that they were just out of all of that stuff...there was no place on the shelf for them, and the woman who worked there told me they don't carry it! WTF?! This is a place, remember, that actually gives cake/cupcake/cookie decorating classes...and they don't sell food colouring or simple round cookie cutters! Seriously?!
I ended up going to WalMart for all my supplies, which were all there.
As for the fry bags and baskets? Well, we stopped at the local McDonalds and they were happy to give us what we needed...for free!
Never again with Michaels, they suck huge.

They ALWAYS have 50-60% off custom framing orders. What's up with that? I never buy anything from Michael's at full price. I always go with a 40 or 50% coupon which they always have for one item. I print up a few copies and buy the items separately. They say only one coupon per/day but really...you can go to 3 different cashiers in one day. They wouldn't know the difference.

Michaels is horrendous. ?I can just imagine what they charge for framing if they give out 60% off coupons!!!?
Michaels is ridiculously overpriced. I'm very suprised they didn't even have the food coloring! I was just in my local one and they had tons of food coloring, that's where I got the real red color for the elmo cupcakes. And I was just there tonight and saw a bunch of cookie cutters, pretty sure there were round ones. Maybe yours can't carry a large stock? it sucks either way.
I always buy on sale too or use a coupon. I shop a lot so I know what things are worth.

Do you have a Bulk Barn? They usually have a decent stock of cake decorating supplies and they are usually cheaper than Michaels - although I tend to stock up on coupons.
