1. Real is best! (We havent had one with the dogs but I think we are going to try it out this year)
2. Anytime after Thanksgiving is accepatble, I would prefer as soon as dessert is finished
but I know not everyone (h) feels the same enthusuasm for the holiday

4. My tree growing up was always a mess with every ornament we owned or made. I love that, its like a history of the family. The tree the h and I will have will be quite bare since we are just starting out, but it will grow over time no doubt.
5. I am partial to color because thats what I had growing up, but white lights are really pretty, possible too pretty for me, they can be intimidating.
6. I used to love, as a kid, the night we brought the tree inside and decorated it and the house. My parents would bring all the decorations out of the attic and we would all have so much fun bringing each item out of the boxes and say " aww remember this....this one is my favorite" or my sister and I arguing over who made the better looking ones and blaming the other for the less than steller creations.

4. Do you go with a theme, certain colored ornaments, or type of ornaments? No theme, we divided up the ornaments my mom had a few years ago between myself and two sisters so they all go on the tree. Most of them are Disney though.

6. Do you have a favorite tradition involving your tree? We wait until it's our weekend with my stepkids, listen to Christmas music, order pizza and decorate the tree.

4. Do you go with a theme, certain colored ornaments, or type of ornaments? No theme. Dh has a lot of Halmark ones as he got one each year.
5. White or colored lights? Both. I push tons of white lights into the center and the wrap colored around the outside.
6. Do you have a favorite tradition involving your tree? No traditions yet. Hopefully someday we will have some.

1. Real. We used to cut ours down at a place in Pollock Pines - so we try to get the same kind.
2. A couple weeks before Christmas. This year, it might be the weekend prior.
3. I don't think we have anything on top.
4. I like to collect photo ornaments for each year.

Real or Fake? Fake. I love real ones, but fake is more cost effective and I dont have to vacuum every day.

1. Real or Fake? Real! Big one near the sliding door, and little ones all over the house for decoration

3. Angel or star on top, or other? Angel typically- H found a Yoda tree topper with a light up light-saber this year, so we might have a second "family" tree for the more fun ornaments and decorations

For a LONG time my dad would struggle getting the tree to stand up in the flimsy stand he had... one year, after a couple of hours of yelling and cursing at the poor dead tree, my dad nailed the stand to the floor. Every year since we've loved watching him nail in that tree stand!
Also, decorating at my parents' place- my mom always makes cocoa and we decorate as a family and then put out the nativity scene 
1. Real or Fake? I love the smell of real but fake is just easiest for us.
2. When do you typically put up your tree? Because of the kids we only put it up a week or so before xmas, the less temptation for them.

6. Do you have a favorite tradition involving your tree? We started it last year and I really like it so we will be doing again. It's a small 3 ft tree, I put it on the floor and let Isabel put on all the decorations, than when it's done, I left it up and put it on a table out of her reach. I love watching her get all excited over all the ornaments and telling everyone it was her tree.
