Cheering up tips?

I?ve been feeling off lately. I can?t explain it but something isn?t the same?it?s like a big case of the BLAH?s. I?m wondering if it?s the weather or if my body is just tired...I feel fine but there?s that nagging ?thing? there, kwim?

I tried playing Christmas music which always would cheer me up, took a nice bath and relaxed, checked off a major to-do off my list...nothing is making it better!

What are ways/things that cheer you up?

Re: Cheering up tips?

  • I always like to have something to look forward to. maybe 10 weeks is a bit too far out in your own timeline to really get excited about baby. Is there something you can plan out to look forward to next weekend or in a few weeks before baby?

I often get a case of the "blahs" after a big event or big vacation because I feel like I have nothing to look forward to for awhile again, so I know the feeling!!

If you get a big case of the blues, don't hesitate to talk to the doctor about it either, since your body is going through lots of hormonal changes, maybe something there is "OFF"

Another thing - have you been getting outside in the daylight enough lately? Maybe ever since the time change you don't see the sun. Try to go for a walk during lunch hour (maybe not when it's raining... but it's been a gorgeous few weeks) I definitely find going outside at lunch to be uplifting.

  • I've been feeling the same way lately. I am in a funk and I can't seem to shake it.

I have been making time to do things that I enjoy. I am focusing on decorating the house and, b/c my budget is so small, it's forced me to get really creative...which I love.

I find that I always feel better after pampering myself. Last night I came home, grabbed some trashy mags and a cup of tea and just vegged out and relaxed. It was just what I needed. Does the feeling last super long? Nope, but it perked me up in the moment.

  • It's the November "blahs"... I have totally been there.

Some of the things that make me happy include:

    - playing with DD (you can do that soon, too! Get excited about the countdown!)

    - a big bowl of ice cream with scoops of peanut butter in it and chocolate syrup

    - watching an episode of Glee (you can't help but smile when you watch)

    - curling up with a good book and escaping into a fantasy world

    - calling a friend and venting about my yuckies

  • - bubble baths

    - reading

    - snuggles

    - playdates

    - working out
