DH just made reservations for us at
Volt, Bryan Voltaggio's restaurant. We heard they were booking into
April 2010, so he called today to get a spot for our anniversary
dinner, 7/19 and we ended up with August 13th. Right now they are
booking Aug/Sept. I should add this is for his 'Chef's Table' where he
serves 4 people 21 courses.

I can't wait! I have last night's show DVRed, so I have no idea who got cut last night, but I hope he's still on!

Re: Top Chef fans - Volt!
Oh I totally agree with this. He's very arrogant...but unfortunately he has the talent to back it up.
Have fun at dinner! It sounds like a blast!
I def agree -- Michael is an ass, I was SOOOOOO pissed when he won last week with a dish supposed to represent NY, NY and it was Buffalo chicken wings -- WTF? You should have heard me yelling at the TV!
I didn't know we had a good number of fans on here, we should discuss the show more! Anyone ever read Tom's blog on the bravo website? It's pretty good at explaining why the judges decided the way they did. Tom is on our list of celebrity chef's restaurants to visit too, probably next time we're in Vegas.
The other Michael, Isabella, is executive chef at a place in DC too. It's called Zatinaya and does mediterrian style tapas. I thought he was a bigger ass than Michael V. From the first week with the comment about women chefs he was done with me. However, we still really want to go to the restaurant, since it's owned by Jose Andres, one of our fav celebrity chefs. I feel like a total foodie whore now! LOL.
And, I agree Bryan is definitely cute, I told DH I can't wait to be served by him, total hotness. :-)

I ate at Zaytinya a bunch when I lived in DC one summer, the food is AMAZING. It is one of my favorite places to visit still, especially since I'm a Jose Andres fan as well.
I actually read a Washington Post article about Michael Isabella and he said that he was joking when he made the comment about Jen. They were apparently longtime friends and he was just tring to be funny and trash talk. He said that most of his kitchen staff are women and that he respects them as chefs. I felt better after reading that because I wasn't sure I could ever eat there again otherwise!
