Importance of being Pacific
We did vital signs today. Quotes from my instructor:
"Now you all remember, that its very important to be pacific when you're taking these measurements."
"The tester is looking for a pacific answer, so don't guess around it. Write it down exactly as you read it."
And over, and over, and over again. I had to go to my special place to keep from screaming "holy mother of God woman it's SPUH-cific".
Aaaand there was a gem from one of my formerly incarcerated classmates discussing how she shot her ex-husband with a handgun because he threw rocks at her.
11 more days. Just 11 more days.
Re: Importance of being Pacific
Oh, KB... hang in there! I have to say though, I do love hearing about the antics of your professors and classmates!
Tsk, Chrissy, I thought you'd agree with me. It is very important to be Pacific. Especially when you're interested in surfing. It's not enough to be Atlantic or--God forbid--Indian (third largest, sniff).
Kelly, keep the anecdotes coming.

I understand where she's coming from. I gave only Atlantic answers on a test once and I totally failed.
I'd probably start throwing rocks at the instructor.
And I'm also surprised Chrissy isn't rooting for this instructor.

Since SBS ditched us to come to my fine city and see Twilight, I will be disappointed in Chrissy on her behalf for not agreeing with KB's instructor that being Pacific is the most important thing of all. ::shakes head in shame::

This Texas girl will always be a Gulf Coaster at heart! Haha, ew.
Sorry to let you all down. I was focused strictly on the mispronunciation aspect of KB's post. Plus, I'm knee deep in a software conversion project. Accounting software bleeds my humor dry.
KB - you should come visit us in SoCal. Then, you will never again doubt the importance of being Pacific!
Here, here!

I think I would be more worried about the woman who shot her husband...
This is a nursing class right? They are going to let these people work in healthcare on poor, unsuspecting people? God help us all.

Hawki - it's a CNA class (the focus is on long term care facilities). My nursing program requires us to have our CNA before we can begin clinicals.
You could call it 100+ reasons never to put a loved one in a nursing home.
