DH started a new job in Jan. He was told that he wouldn't get any leave until his 1 year anniversary. He's been working his rear off-working every Saturday, working at least 70 hours a week during the busy season, and he's always one of the highest performers at this branch (go hubby!!). Well his branch manager just told him that he has two weeks of vacation and 3 floating holidays to use before the end of the year! There is no way he can use all of that and he can't cash it out. He's taking off next week which makes me happy but I'm also ticked that he won't get to use all of his leave! We're going to try to take a two or three day trip before the end of the year. plus maybe I can get him to do some of my chores while he's home!
Still, it's pretty good that the company gives 13 days of vacation and 5 days sick leave in the first year!
Re: I don't know if I should cry or laugh
Helpful that he let him know now! But all you can do is laugh
At least it sounds like he's going to get some much needed time off!
I'm confused. When he was hired he was told he didn't have any time off, but was just told he does? Didn't they think it was odd that he hadn't taken any time off but had almost 3 weeks banked, with 6 weeks left in the year?
I agree with the pp, and he should ask if he can roll over any of the days.
At least you'll be able to spend some QT together next week.
