101 Reasons Why Hurricanes Suck....

1.  It took 5 hours to get from Harvey to Clinton, MS when it should have taken only about 3.  I know many think this isn't so bad but we left at 2am and I hadn't slept so it was rough.

2.  The hotel we are staying in doesn't allow pets so Boo is in a kennel in Clinton.  I cried when I left him! Crying

3.  All I keep hearing is how the Westbank is f****d and I am terrified of what I will find when we come home.

4.  If I have to retake the bar I will be p****d off!

5.  My brother, SIL and niece are in Memphis and I miss them.

6.  I feel terrible for focusing on these minor, material things when people are in real danger of losing everything, including their lives.

 OK, now you ladies go!

Re: 101 Reasons Why Hurricanes Suck....

  • I can only think of a few things

    1. I'm so anxious I haven't slept in days, maybe 4-5 hours a night
    2. I bought non perishables, but as long as we have power, I didn't buy any other food
    3. My pets are very anxious too and have been getting sick for two days now

    2.  The hotel we are staying in doesn't allow pets so Boo is in a kennel in Clinton.  I cried when I left him! Crying  I'm sorry Boo is in a kennel, but I bet he's making tons of friends

  • 1.  Ditto on the food.

    2.  Because of that, we tried to find a store that was open yesterday around 4:00 and nothing was open all along 190.

    3.  My dog is afraid to go outside and pee.  I had to put a leash on him and drag him out to the grass.

    4.  The rain and wind aren't too bad right now where I am right now.  My first thought when I woke up was "this is it?"  I'm sure it'll get worse.

  • 1. Not knowing when you can return.

    2. Debating on whether you want to return with not electricity or staying somewhere else with the anxiety of wanting to go home, but knowing you shouldn't.

    3. Finding out you lost a huge tree in your yard as old as your family can remember it being there.

    4. Worrying about the where abouts and safety of all your family and friends.

    5. Worrying about the next string of hurricanes lined up!

  • 1. No air conditioning

    2. Stressing about running out of gas while sitting in traffic

    3. Fighting the mobs to get tuna fish and peanut butter

    4. Having to keep poor Charlie in his crate most of the day b/c there were too many people/small children for him to run around the house.

    5. Cleaning up the mess afterwards. Sigh.......

  • Either having to stay during the storm (I didn't this time)

Or worrying yourself sick about your co-workers during the storm.

Eating crap the entire time your gone or hunkerd down.

  • only 5 hours??  It took us 10 hours to get from Harvey to Slidell, we left at 430am and got to our final destination at 1130pm.  It took us 19 hours to get to Oxford, AL.  That is about a 7 hour drive.

next....during a state of emergency hotels HAVE to accept pets.  We had 2 cats and a dog in a hotel that didn't allow pets.
