PSA: "Ethnic" Baby Dolls
Hello ladies,
Since Miss Libby is multiracial (African-American, Carribean, German, French, Irish and Russian) I have been on the search for books and toys that reflect multiracial children as well as interracial families. No small task, sadly!
That said, I came across this site today:
http://www.liveandlearn.com/
They have a nice selection of Asian and black dolls. Apparently Angelina Jolie has shopped there. They have an assortment of other non-race specific toys too and a catalog of toys NOT made in China. Just thought some of you may be interested for your LOs.
ETA: These are cute for older children: http://karitokids.com/start.php
Re: PSA: "Ethnic" Baby Dolls
I like the Les Dollie dolls...they collectively remind me of Rainbow Brite.
The Asian one is really cute!
Our LO will be multiracial too - Japanese, Filipino, Irish, Danish, Norwegian and Spanish.
Cool...there's definitely a need for more products like these!
Another catalog I like is Lakeshore Learning. They have a wide variety of materials for dramatic play, including ethnically diverse dolls and dolls with special needs.
