I passed a young woman on a highway exit today that had a sign saying something about her being a single mom and jobless. (Funny how that happened after that thread was posted)
I got into a conversation with the guy driving about how I refuse to give money because you just never know if it's for real or what they'll use the money for. After I got my car (from the dealership) I realized I had a huge black trash bag full of clothes I'd been meaning to take to Goodwill. The direction I was headed was going to take me right past that girl.
So I pulled off the road (like - jumped a curb and everything) and got out and asked her if she needed clothes. She was more than greatful and was willing to take anything she could get. So I gave her the whole bag.
I can't help but think maybe fate played a hand in all that. Why would I leave that bag in my car for several weeks and totally forget it was there....until the day that I pass a homeless mother that is pretty much exactly my size? Crazy how things work out.
Just thought I'd share. ![]()
