Furminator reviews?

I swear I saw you guys talk about the furminator on this board before which is why I didn't go right over to the pets board. Does it really work better then any other brush or shedding blade? We try everything on DH's dog. DH will get a ton of hair off of him one day, then the next day the hair will be falling off him as if DH never even brushed him the day before. It's getting so frustrating! I could stand to vacuum every day!

So if you've used it or have it...would you reccomend it? Is it better then other brushes? TIA! :)

  • My parents have one for the long haired cats. They rave about it!

  • It's about the only thing that works on my parents' black lab.  she sheds like a fiend, but it's MUCH better after she's been "furminated" every couple of days.  :-)

  • I swear by it. We have a shih tzu and he has veryt hick hair although he doesn't shed a lot. I am astounded at how much hair it gets out each time. He hates being bruched (his hair gets tangled very easily) but the furminator...he just lays there and eats it all up. Definitelyt recommend. We bought ours on Amazon for more than half off. GL!
  • I just got one for my super sheddy cat.. I've not tried another de-shedding blade, but it DEFINITELY works better than a brush. Are you my friend on FB? I posted a pic of the fur I got from her on her first furmination the other day on my wall.

  • We have one and I highly recommend it.  I'm not going to say it negates the need for a great vacuum, but it does help, and gets a lot of hair off.
  • I love mine for both the cat and dog. And amazon has them the cheapest I found... $25 I think?
  • I'll just say this- when I first used it on my Norwegian Forst Cat- I got enough hair for my sister to spin it with wool and make a cat trivet for me. You'll be AMAZED by the amount it takes out.
