Catching up...i tried to keep this short ;)

Here's a recap of my week off, in a nutshell;

Friday, 11/13; went to that interview at NYU. The 2 people were really nice and informative but also made it sound like The Devil Wears Prada!! Um...*no thanks*! I eventually got an email from them that it wasn't a 'good fit'...duh!! Wink Met DH for dinner at Olive Garden before seeing our friend perform in her Level 3 improv class performance. It was okay, but she was good!

Sat, 11/14; flew to NM! I loved on my niece as soon as we got to my parents!! We stayed in all night, which was nice. Oh, wait, no we didn't; me, DH, my sister and her hubby went to the local brewery and hung out for about an hour. We were all tired!!

Sun, 11/15; more family time and we did an early Thanksgiving, since we were all there. Played our regular family poker game!!

Mon, 11/16; spent the morning and lunchtime with my pregnant bf and her 2 boys. It was so good to see her and she looks so great and pregnant!! At 28wks, this is the longest she's ever been pregnant, so each day is new to her. (her 2 boys were preemies) Had coffee with my former directing professor/directing mentor. He's so inspiring and encouraging and trying to help me figure out my life. He and his boyfriend are getting married in VT next summer and then doing a big reception in NM...i kinda hope that DH and i get invited! Then had dinner with the fam at home.

Tues, 11/17; my baby niece and sister and brother in law left. Crying DH and i had lunch with my former ballet teacher and his new girlfriend and the other woman who works at the studio (i've known her and my dance teacher for 20yrs!!). Found out he needs a hip replacement, which will mean he can no longer dance...further meaning that a light will go out in the dance world when that happens! But even he said that he got good use out of it and he could probably still teach, which is good. And they were all again complaining about how lazy and selfish their dancers are this year...as they have been since i stopped dancing! It's so sad... Sad Then i headed to the NMSU campus to pick up my transcripts that i ordered for when i apply to grad school, then DH and i went and got frozen custard. And kinda started talking about the possibility of moving to NM so i can save my childhood dance studio and he can work with my directing mentor on theatre stuff! And the house across the cul-de-sac from my best friend is for sale!! No decision was made, so we'll see what happens... Had dinner with my bf and her hubby at a Mexican place.

Weds, 11/18; got up at the @ss crack of dawn to fly to St. Louis! My uncle picked us up and drove us to my grandma's house. DH met my paternal grandma for the first time!!

Thurs, 11/19-yesterday; we literally talked, ate and napped our whole 3 days in STL!! I hadn't seen my grandma and step-grandpa in 3yrs, but haven't been to STL or seen my uncle/aunt/cousin in about 6yrs! My 11yr old female cousin is quite annoying, but i tried to take it with a grain of salt and remember what i was like at 11... Embarrassed I cried when hugging my grandma good bye but we cheered ourselves up by paying extra to upgrade to first class! DH has never flown first class, but i have a few times. So it was nice, but not completely worth it.

Now i'm back to the grind but i really don't want to be here!!

  • Edit; Oh man, i'm such a bad daughter in law!! We also found out on 11/13 that MIL is in the hospital with pnuemonia and a viral infection!! Sad So each day on vacation was also spent trying to get updates on her and DH chatting with his brothers and his dad. The prognosis is good, but she'll be in the hospital for at least another week, which means that when we head up for Thanks, she won't be there. But we'll go visit. They're trying to knock the infection out of her, the phlegm out of her lungs and to get her to *eat*! Apparently she's not eating cuz her mouth is sore from all the tubes in her first few days there!

    All T&P would be appreciated!!

  • My T&P are with your MIL. Don't worry this week will be short!
