AW and opinions needed

Today I was busy making things for my nephew and my niece or nephew both of which are due in the next couple months.

This is what I made today- 3 bibs, a peepee teepee and kimono shoes.

I made these kimono shoes that are for 0-3 months but my question for the moms is if these look like they will actually "work". I got the pattern online and it didn't call for elastic or anything like that. Will these get flung off or could they work? I don't want to make another pair for the other baby if they won't work.

The babies are coming soon! One SIL is due Christmas day (surprise) and my best SIL is two in just under two months with a boy.

I have been going a little crazy with the sewing and buying. If you're bored and want to see the other things I've made lately visit

  • They are all super cute! I am not sure about the booties, I find that baby's tend to kick off nearly all footwear - elastics or not. Although, they may stay on better if babe was wearing socks, which I suppose defeats the purpose of the booties. Huh.

I have one question though, what the heck it a peepee teepee used for?!

They are teeny tiny little fabric cones that you put over a baby boy's penis to keep him from peeing all over you when you change his diaper.  I got some as a shower gift. Time will tell whether they're practical or not, but they sure are cute!

They are all super cute.  I love the green fabric.  I was looking for something similar at fabric land on the weekend and couldn't find anything that nice.

  • Very cute!  Love the fabrics!

Honestly, the booties wouldn't work for DS.  I think his favorite pastime is rubbing his heels together to remove whatever toe-warming device I have put on them.  Not sure if all kids do that though.

Wish I had a SIL like you to sew for me!

  • The fabric you chose is so cute! I have absolutely no advice about the booties.

  • I think all babies rub their feet together to take off whatever is there!

Be it socks, shoes, booties - it doesn't matter! But I'm sure the mommies would love to have it anyways, yes she'll have to put them on about 5 times but it looks so cute and it's an extra warmth in the colder months.

    You did a great job!
