RAK Poll
I'm not intending to ruffle any feathers, but if I do, so be it.
I was thinking about the RAK list and who is on it. I feel like I know who the "regulars" on the board are, and me personally, that is who I would like to be on the RAK list. Not because I am trying to be elitist, but more because I don't want random lurkers to know my info. And if they are random, I most likely don't care about their info, but sure do care if they know mine. I am friends with a lot of you on FB and I am okay with that because I can individually approve you. I have declined some requests from people who I don't know who are mutual friends of yours.
I don't know how to do this without naming names, so if anyone has an idea, please share.
There has been no one so far who has publicly asked to be on the list that I have a problem with. It's more in the event that someone random PM's Lindsay and wants on.
Anyone else feel this way? Or am I way off base?

I don't think anyone can be too careful when it comes to addresses, etc. Especially with little ones in the house. I don't think any list with anyone's personal info should be shared with anyone we don't "know".

Thanks for bringing this up, I didn't realize how many "regulars" we had until Gerrie's photo, and there was quite a few people missing. It sucks that we have to be aware of such things, but that's a lot of personal info.
It's not just addresses and knowing where I live, but with a person's name and address etc, we could also be at risk for certain types of identity theft.

I totally agree with what you're saying.
I recognize every name on the list and I'm okay with what it currently is (and I'm okay with those that have requested to be added).
If this were a different board, I think I'd be more concerned with lurkers. However, I'm not sure anyone other than those that were married in April 2008 frequent this board. It's not like it's linked on the sidebars, you'd have to specifically and purposely seek this board out.
I also think that Link would say something if someone PM'd her with a screenname that she didn't recognize.

But I agree with Elisa - I don't think you're being an elitist or anything but you're just being safe. And quite honestly, I know most of your names and can associate them with your nest name and if someone on that list shows up that I can't even place I wouldnt even know enough about them to do anything for them. But, that's just me.
I kinda agree...I think there is a way to lock up the RAK list to restricted access. Maybe we can have it a password associated to it whenever we open it up? Or a limited view?

Actives vs. non-actives, Postees vs. Non-postees...there are so many particulars we would have to figure out. I don't know where to begin???
I like to think that I am a regular, but I don't post everyday. I am on everyday, and read almost every post. I can understand where you are coming from, but I think that it might be hard to include/disclude people.
I know that when I saw eveyones pictures the other day for Gerrie, I was sad. I have been sending my thoughts and prayers to her, and I was sad that I did not get to share my support.

i haven't posted every day in a few weeks either, but i'm for sure a regular.
you (and jami) are totally regulars. we know exactly who you are. the same as for when ellen or someone else who just checks in every once in a while posts. i think we're using the word "regular" for the lack of a better word. i think it's more of a "regular/original" kind of thing. we've all been around since the beginning, it doesn't matter so much if you don't post that often anymore.

Again, I see the concern, but I don't think there is anyone here who wouldn't be be considered a regular/original/whatever-name-you'd-like-to-use. It's just not a popular board. And if there are lurkers (random SILs?) I highly doubt that they'd be ballsy enough to try to gain access to the list.

like a clicky poll for me - yes or no. then it's anonymous. and one for every person who wants to be on the list.... some people are no-brainers to me... but some i'm even wondering who they are and how they are posting here sometimes.....
