I'm going to New Orleans!!

I was having a productive, focued Monday at work.. when my boss comes in to tell me I've been selected for a work-related trip to New Orleans, in January!! What a time to escape Minnesota winter, and I've never been there before. Now I'm totally distracted. Hopefully DH won't be too bummed that I'll be away for a week. (I normally don't travel too much for work.) I hadn't mentioned it yet because I didn't want to get my hopes up before I knew for sure. Whoo Hoo! Hope everyone else is also having a great Monday!

  • Thanks gals!! Meagan, I am also hoping for some exploration time. I want to really see the city. The trip is actually based on tours of things that affect my job and industry (agriculture), so even if I'm not seeing "touristy" stuff, I'll still be out and not stuck in a conference room somewhere!

Jena - what a fabulous pic! I still can't believe how fast you ran that 5K:) You are a natural, and will be ready for your half before you know it!

Thanks Lisa, I couldn't believe my time either. When I rounded the last corner I could see the time clock and i was like OMG are you serious, that says 25:something.. holy crap. And then I saw H and I got super excited! He was so great to get that amazing picture!

I think i'm going to be out of commission this week for running. I'm currently laying bed trying not to throw up or move. Ugh. We went out for dinner last night for H's grandmothers b-day and i woke up at 2am sick as can be. Ugh. Not sure what food poisoning feels like so i'm not sure if its that or if i'm just coming down with the flu. Whatever it is, it sucks. (i got my H1N1 vaccination on friday, thats why I think it might be the flu, i dont know how long it would take for the vaccination to affect me if it was going to.).... I got the vaccination bc the Dr. I work for recommended the staff get it, even if we are not in patient care, we all still have some sort of patient contact.

So boo for not being able to run. I was going to try and up my mileage this week. Oh well I guess.
