TR (turkey-related): Where will you go?
Are you cooking for guests? Are you going somewhere? Are you saying "eff it" and ordering Chinese or pizza?

First Thanksgiving with the in-laws. Actually, DH's first Thanksgiving with his own parents in 11 years (school or work always kept him in Austin with me so he always celebrated with my family).
The plus side to this is we get to spend Christmas with my family. Guilt free!

My house! This is the first TG in years that Mike and I haven't gone somewhere. We're hosting a hodge-podge of friends and a few Marines with no place to go. All in all, I think we'll have 17 people for dinner. Did I mention that this is my first time to cook TG dinner, and I've NEVER made a turkey before?! Wish me luck!!
That sounds fun! Good luck with the dinner. Don't be intimidated by the turkey - its actually hard to screw up just dont trust the pop up timer.

Good luck C!!
We're having dinner at my parents' this year. Hopefully only one meal this year compared to the three different places we usualy have to go!

We are going to Ohio to spend the weekend with DH's extended family (his parents live in Asia and will not be there). His brother & SIL will be there, plus grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
He is driving up Wednesday morning, but I have class Wednesday night so will fly out to meet them early Thursday morning.
Rude. Annoying. UGH! Sorry for you, I have been there and it takes the fun out of it
?
Chrissy, go for turkey in a bag method, it's fool proof.
Hop, tell them all demands will be met with the invitation to bring the item themselves! If it were me, the only special request I'd honor is something for the vegetarians to eat besides corn and sweet potatoes.

We always drive to my parents (an hour and a half away) and have lunch. Drive back for dinner at M's aunt's house (his entire dad's side).
This would pisss me off as well - I think I might deliberately forget things.

I survived the RoLex wedding and all I got was this lousy husband.
One&Only Palmilla - Los Cabos, Mexico
Both, for the first time in years. Now that my mom moved back home to MA, she lives 10 minutes from my in-laws. We'll do a little dinner with my fam, a little dinner with B's fam, and then 3 more random family member houses for desserts.
I'm pretty sure I'm never going to have to eat again after this weekend.
We're going to my parents house on Thursday where DH is frying a turkey and I'm doing most of the sides. We're spending Saturday with his family and MIL is roasting a turkey.
I'm going to need Sunday to recuperate from all the food.
We will go to my parents in the morning and then drive an hour to the IL's for another meal. But it means that I don't get to go to the huge dinners that my extended family has because it is too far away to see both families.
Yes...I was told that the ILs drink skim milk (as a part of the shopping list I was given). I was like "ok, good - that's what we drink too" - then MIL said "well we ALL drink it [keep in mind ALL = 2 people], so you need to get a lot of it." They are going to be here from about 10pm Wed night to 5pm (at the very latest) Thursday...then leaving to go to the lakehouse. How much effing milk are you going to drink in less than 24 hours? I've been to their house numerous times...they rarely drink milk. Ugh.
This made me LOL. I would drink it all before they get there just to spie them.
