DH and I are due for new phones (I am way, way, way over due!) and we are looking into the droid - we have verizon.
I am wary because it is so new - the last time I bought the "new" phone, I got stuck with my awful Q that has been broken since I got it three years ago.
Any reviews on the droid?
Re: Anyone have the droid?
My DH got it the day it came out. He's a super techy- IT guy, so he definitely knows his tech gear/gadgets. He spent the month before the phone was released practically drooling over every photo and every article. He loves it. I have played around with it a little, but I know he is very happy with it. I also know he researched it a lot and compared it to the other (analog) phones being released.
The typing key pad is much easier than other blackberries or phones I've played with. The screen is very similar to the iphone (except for one of the finger movements that apple threatened to sue over if they copied).
But so far, he loves it. if you have more specific questions, let me know i'll ask him. I know there was a very good thourough review of the phone, i'll ask him if he can find it. I say get it. its super sexy.
I'm in the same boat and have been eyeing it as well! I'm due for a new Verizon phone in January.
I'm glad to hear your H likes it, Liza!

sounds good to me!!
Seriously, ANY phone would be better than what I have now!!! I can't see any text messages I type, my phone is cosntantly freezing so I need to restart it all the time, it makes weird "white noise" sounds instead of normal beeps...
I hate it.
I have it and I love it! I really wanted an iphone, but my whole family is on Verizon and I need the mobile-mobile minutes. There are tons of useful free apps, it is easy to use, I've had a great time playing with it. The phone part works really well also, which I've heard can be a problem with the iphone.
The only thing that's a bit irritating is that I have to charge it every night, but that's likely because I play with it non-stop on my commute everyday. It only takes about 2 hours to charge all the way up though, and it does have a replaceable battery in case they develop one that lasts longer.
FWIW, my dad has the Blackberry Storm and said it's great also.
