Re: Monday Mommy's & Mommies-to-be Check-In

  • Sorry about the double post, my computer went crazy for a minute.
  • Hellooooooo ladies!  Hope everyone is doing well!

Congrats again to Tiffgoddess!  I cannot believe there are July (and August!) due dates already!

I finished my registry over the weekend.  But I'm sure I will end up editing it here and there.  We are no where near starting the nursery and I feel like I should be freaking out, but I'm not...yet.

I have an appt. on Wednesday but no u/s this time =(  Oh well.  I should be scheduling my 1 hour glucose test for about 2 weeks from now.  Oh joy!

    Have a great Thanksgiving everyone!!

  • I would say the one thing that I can't do without would have to be the diaper genie.  But again, I'm a new mom so changing diapers is all I really do right now!

Lucie is doing great, she's sleeping 7 to 8 hours in a row at night time so we're getting a good amount of sleep, and she usually gets up eats and falls back to sleep so I nap myself.  We just had our newborn pics done today so I'll post those up when we get them back.

I just have to say how excited I am for all our "surprise" girls, I love that we waited to find out what sex our baby was going to be, it made the birth that much more anticipated and exciting for not only us but our whole family.

  • Things here are moving along well. I think we're going to head to Ikea this weekend to get our crib and changing table/dresser.  K mentioned a paint color that she likes and has also pointed to some bedding she likes.  These may seem like little things, but I love that she is bringing up the topic before me.

  • Things are going well.  I am feeling pretty good and I am finally wearing maternity clothes.  I am very excited about this! My friend let me borrow a whole bunch of clothes and I have had them since this summer and I am finally wearing them.  I really look pregnant now.  I am pretty much all registered.  I have been looking at gliders for the nursery. Congrats again to Tiff! I can't wait to be an Aunt!
  • We finally got to see our baby last week! At first the Dr. couldn't find the HB on the doppler so I was a mess and they gave us an ultrasound and found our little guy right away.  They said the baby was measuring a little smaller (3 days less than I thought) and although they didn't change the due date, if they did, it would be to my birthday :) Now we're just trying to decide about the NT testing...DH doesn't want the amnio basically but I've been trying to explain that that isn't our next step, we'll see.

On Saturday we told our families-yay! We gave everyone a framed pic of the ultrasound and made a shirt for my niece that said "this little monkey is going to be a big cousin!"  She's 7 months and was the cutest little thing!  It turned into a long day though, told my parents first, then his mom and stepdad, then his dad, and last his step mom.  But we're so glad to have it out and be done with the big secret!

I hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving!  Judging from the rounds we made this weekend, you can be sure ours will be very busy!

  • I'd say that the three things I couldn't live without were my Boppy, the video monitor, and my nursing cover.  Gavin loved his Boppy, and slept on it for his naps (with us in the room) for a long time.  I still love my monitor sooo much!  It's been wonderful with sleep training.  And, my nursing cover made NIP so much easier.  I used it all the time...it made me feel more comfortable to know I could still go out and enjoy life with the baby and not have to worry about how I'd feed him.  I didn't like the one at BRU, though...it wasn't big enough once he got larger.  I ordered one online, but I can't remember the website.
  • Sorry ladies, I am a day late.

I had my one hour glucose yesterday and it wasn't horrible. It got baby moving and I felt a little queasy. I will call today to get my test results but I doubt that I didn't pass.

Things are making progress in the house. The floors are sanded, stained and DH will return this morning to put the last coat of poly on them. I guess they look great but I haven't seen them. While at the house, my father discovered a small gas leak and an issue with our hot water tank. The gas leak was very small and easy to fix the tank has been a whole other story. Dad will go back this morning for day 4 of trying to fix it!

Once we get home from Maine we will work on the Nursery full tilt. I think that I found a glider for a great price in a fabric that I love. It is a best chair but not from their sleepy time series and comes in almost $150 less than the first chair we picked.

I am starting to feel a little more uncomfortable. It is becoming difficult to cross my legs. I went and bought several tops and two more pairs of work pants. Most of the tops I bought weren't maternity but I think will grow till the end of the pregnancy **fingers crossed**

  • 3rd and final NT test- the baby FINALLY cooperated, and everything looks within normal limits- so we'll probably get to skip the amnio now. This week I stopped getting sick- and just have that vague nausea now- so I am eating like a champ. We also outed ourselves on FB yesterday, after telling our nephews they're going to have a new cousin- and it's good to finally let everyone know. We also got our order of floors in for the nursery, though we'll wait another month or so to get them installed.

Also, thanks mommies for your "couldn't live without" items. They really help me plan what to register for. TWO- it's funny you said K is pointing out things she's interested in- I can't WAIT for HT to start doing that!

  • Thank you!!!  I am super excited :)  I have started getting more nauseous but no throwing up, so that at least is good.  I have been realllllly tired at night and fall to sleep a lot earlier than usual.  Just the normal things.  Other than that I am pretty good!

SO excited to see you posting here!!!

  • I'm a day late...sorry...

I think my feet have swelled permanently (well until I give birth) and walking for a long period of time (like a half hour) makes me super uncomfortable...

We had our lamaze classes and Dh was great- I think he's going to be a great coach even as I am screaming obscenities at him...

I just made my- "what we have left to buy" list and I was surprised- cause it seems like a lot- (uhm dresser/changer...sheets for the crib...)

i started packing my bag- my lamaze instructor said  to be ready from here on out (which is scary)

I think we decided to just stay home at christmas- and enjoy being together...

I dont have a must have baby item- but I tried on my ergo carrier and I cant wait to pop my little boy in there and carry him with me all day!!
