So, I'm a huge NBA fan [have a fantasy league that I'm kicking butt at and everything this year], but I know some don't like it. Why do you love/hate the NBA?
I will say that the main thing I don't like about the NBA is the lack of defense. I refuse to watch the All-Star game now because they don't.play.defense.

Re: Love/hate NBA?
This x1000. I didn't realize other NBA teams did the full on DJ thing! SO obnoxious. Plus, the Timberwolves are absolutely terrible. We went to two games last year (didn't pay for either one), and one game this year (paid $20 total for $120 seats). There are 3 returning players. 3. New head coach, new GM, all new coaching staff...how can a team function like that?! They really aren't fun to watch.
I LOVE me some college bball, though.
I have to say I hate basketball, (NBA NCAA) I never got into it and I live in UCONN country, so up here it's almost law that you love it.
And I've tried and tried and just can't get into it.

I always thought I was just crazy in thinking a team just watches the other shoot!
I generally don't get into pro sports as much. I enjoy the NFL, but just don't get into MLB (love minor games), NBA, MLS. It's all about the benjamins and not love of the game.
My Bio
The thing I don't like about the NBA.... How it takes an hour to play that last three minutes of the game.

I am SO with you on this one. And sometimes, the other team honestly has a one in a million shot to pull off the upset [as in, they're down by 10 with a 45 seconds to go]...and yet, the last 45 seconds last for half an hour. I hate that, too.
I grew up an NBA girl first - my parents didn't go to college, so we didn't have any college teams to follow in my house - which is probably why I like it so much. I didn't get into college sports until after I started going to OSU because my hometown only has an NAIA school with not-so-good basketball programs [no football program; that got scrapped in the '90s].
I've been to several Thunder games, and the entertainment's fun to me. However, if I REALLY want to watch a game, I watch it on TV - you don't have to sit through all that entertainment junk, which honestly gets on my nerves when I'm watching a high profile game [like Mavs-Spurs or Lakers-Celtics].
The NBA is full of a bunch of overpaid crybabys, more so than every other sport. The games take too long to play, every possession points are scored, and it doesn't seem like the players care.
I don't think I have watched an NBA game since I left Philly for college. The area I was in didn't have an NBA team, so college ball it was. And I fell in love. I am a nut for March Madness.
I LOVE NCAA B-ball. The kids are passionate.
