I've been really busy lately and also dealing with a lot of family BS, so I haven't been around much. =/ I just wanted to write and see how everyone is doing? I hope all is well! What's everyone doing for the Holiday? If it's been posted already, I'm sorry...I might have missed that one.
I had Thanksgiving with my family this past Friday and it was very nice. My family will be in Florida this week, that's why we had it in advance. But, for the actual day, we will be with DH's family. I love Thanksgiving. I love watching the parade and flipping to "March of the Wooden Soldiers" at the same time. lol I'm making a few side dishes, so the house should smell semi-Thanksgivingy. =/ And that's about it. I have work on Friday, so I will decorate for x-mas when I get home. Anyway, I hope everyone has a Happy Thanksgiving! ![]()
Re: How's everyone doing?
Likewise busy here too. Thanksgiving will be with family out of town, followed by a weekend with old friends who live in the area--they'll be meeting DH for the first time. I will be making apple pie and homemade cranberry sauce for dinner, and cranberry cinnamon buns for breakfast. I'm looking forward to it
Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

We're headed down to DC to stay with some friends! Wish us luck getting out of town on Wed afternoon (we're taking the DC2NY bus)....I'm sure traffic will be a nightmare!
Sunday night we did a mini-Thanksgiving here with just the two of us. I am a huge dork and LOVE cooking Thanksgiving dinner, and I couldn't bear the thought of missing out on it this year.
So we had a big spread on Sunday and will have another big spread on Thursday at our friends' place! Haha...I love eating.

Hey Bonnie, sorry you are going thru family drama.
I am ok, each time I try to upload the kitchen pics something goes wrong. I brought the camera to work to upload it only to find out that my SD chip will not fit in the laptop at work...LOL
We are heading to our old neighbor's house for thanksgiving. As it is, Garth's family never does anything. I have already realized that it will be on me to introduce the family to Thanksgiving and traditions...it's like they still live in Dominica...c'mon! I think we should keep our local traditions from back home but let's definitely try and adopt some of the American ones and I love thanksgiving. So, next year I am gonna host it and let them see what they've been missing!
Oh,and we are going to try to buy a real tree this weekend to put in our dusty and unfinished house. LOL

I've been so busy too!! Bonnie, we are doing the same thing as you - we had "mock thanksgiving" already with my family, because we will be with DH's family (in California) for the actual day.
We leave tomorrow and I have SO much to do before then!
We're off to Baltimore this evening for thanksgiving with the families! Wish us luck, we bought our tix before we had B. and didn't realize that our scheduled train is during B.'s fussiest time.
Bonnie- I hear you on being crazy! I am sorry you are dealing with family drama. That is never fun!
We are having a crazy Thanksgiving at our house- 20+ people! My parents and sister and coming into town, so they?ll help us with the cooking, but I am really overwhelmed. Ugh. It should be fun though? eventually!
The rest of the weekend is packed with visiting family and friends who are in town, but it should be really great. Just not at all relaxing. Ugh!
Happy Thanksgiving all!
Thanks for the sympathy ladies. It sounds like everyone is going to have a nice holiday...glad to hear it!
Karllen: I can't wait to see the pics of the new kitchen.
Jenn: Don't worry, the madness in itself will be a fun time!
Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
i am burnt out! work has been one headache after another and psychotically busy, so you can imagine how much fun that is. i am so, so glad that i took next monday off because i desperately need some time away! next week is going to be crazy too but i'm trying hard not to think about it anymore.
we're off to VA bright and early thursday morning for turkey day at my bff's house and then apartment/neighborhood scouting in DC for the weekend. i was totally going to cook tonight but it took so long to get home that i'm thinking dinner needs to be delivered.
hope everyone has a great thanksgiving!!
