What Board Games do you like?
We are starting a monthly game night with some other couples, but we only have a few games that we play over and over. What games do you recommend?
Currently in the rotation: Trivial Pursuit, Pictionary, Cranium, Apples to Apples, Clue Master Detective, Monopoly and Life.
Re: What Board Games do you like?
We love Apples to Apples, too! Best game when drinking. Our friends are too funny and opinionated so it just is awesome
We also play Pictionary Man. And a game where you have to guess the word by listening to clues from your teamate...it's electronic and when you guess correctly, you pass it on around the circle and whomever it lands on, the other team gets a point. I don't remember what it's called though... crap. If I think of it I'll let you know!
I LOVE Scattergories! I haven't played that in years either.
I also like Scrabble. Scene it looks fun although I have never played it.
Settlers of Catan (you need an expansion pack to play with more than 4, unless you do teams)
Ticket to Ride
ETA: There was a post on this exact topic on MM yesterday, with tons of responses: http://community.thenest.com/cs/ks/forums/thread/26524866.aspx
We love Cranium, Pictionary Man & Win, Lose or Draw (the one my friend has hooks right up to the TV and what you draw shows up on the TV).
I love game nights!
Everything we play regularly has already been listed - Cranium, Apples to Apples, Scattergories.... we also like the DVD Pop Culture Edition of Trivial Pursuit, and we have a lot of card games we play.
There's another game that's kind of like Apples to Apples mixed with Balderdash called The Game of Things which is fun also.
If it's all couples, the Newlywed Game is fun as well.
Clomid + Met = BFP#1 12/27/10, missed MC discovered 2/9/11, d&c 2/11/11, 10w3d
Natural cycle (just Met) = BFP#2 6/3/11, Baby A arrived 2/16/12

We're board game geeks!
Settlers of Cattan and Ticket to Ride are both really good 'intro to Euro games' type games. I love 'em both and chances are, if you can get people hooked on these, they'll probably be up for trying some other fabulous geekiness games.
Power Grid - Kind of like Monopoly, but without dice and tokens. You bid on and buy power plants to power cities. Resources like coal, gas, etc have varying rates depending on supply & demand as the game goes on.
Wits & Wagers (good party game) - People answer trivia questions and you bet on whether they have the right answer or not
Thurn & Taxis - this is one of my all time favorites. It's very similar to Ticket to Ride only you are a mail carrier in Germany and you need to collect cards to make routes.
Cash & Guns (hilarious party game) You're a gangster and you just robbed a bank with a bunch of other folks. Now you're holed up in a hideout dividing up the money. You shoot people, and people shoot you. Really. There's foam guns.
A lot of people love Carcassonne, and we own a few versions, but I've never gotten into it as much as some. The basic, original version you build a countryside with tiles and place your meeples on the board for points. Really, I just love saying meeples. Meeeeppppllllleeeeessss.
Mystery of the Abby - like Clue, but has some more complex elements that make it a ton more fun.
The Nacho Incident - because smuggling Mexican Food into Canada is freaking funny. Don't let the Mounties catch you with enchilada sauce dripping down your chin
Tichu - this is a 4 player card game that's kind of a cross between a$$hole and Euchure. I LOVE this one
If you want to purchase any of the games, the only store in the area that I know of that sells things like this (and has a lot of games that you can test out before purchase) is Millinuim Games in Henrietta. I also use funagaingames.com to purchase online quite a bit. Or you know, if you ever wanted to, let's say, borrow some games, we are always looking for other couples to play with us!
