Ok I'm bored and ooking at cribs.... We have a fairly small room for our nursery and I was trying to look at some space saving ideas. Since we really only have room for a crib and 1 tall dresser (damn windows are in a bad spot makes it impossible to rearrange the room) I was looking at several of these cribs since putting a changing table in the room might make it a little tight and getting a shorter dresser that doubles as a changing table might leave us less room for storage for clothes. The only other thing I can think of is getting a shelving system in the closest (its a fairly decent sized closet).
What do you think about this crib? Pros? Cons? I know the changing table looks awfully small...
Re: Momma's, Momma's 2 b, or whoever..
I have no clue if that would be practical or not - but the changing table right there on the end might make it easy for those late night changes. And if you're space limited it will probably work for you. I would definitely try and find it in a store though so you can see it in person. It is super cute
We looked at that one and i think it's pretty. It makes sense to me for a small room.
Thats why I was thinking i'd rather use something that had drawers so its at least useful. With all 3 of my nieces we always just changed them on the floor on a changing mat or on the bed with a changing mat underneath them.
This is what we do too. Except for the closet being organized. LOL
We use our dresser as our changing table and the dresser has plenty of drawer space. He is already taking up a lot of space on the changing pad so it would not be worth it to me to get one like that, that is attached to the bed.
We use our changing table ALL. THE. TIME. I am so glad we got it.
As for the crib, for some reason, I don't like the attached changing table on your link. I say use the low dresser as the changing table as well and get the closet organizer. Babies clothes are small and don't take up as much room in the drawers like ours do.
You may also want to consider a used bassinet for the first few months if money is tight. We didn't even use B's crib until he was about 10 weeks old. His nursery up until then was just a place to store stuff.
And, we got a used crib. Yada yada yada, I know what they say about used cribs, but ours came from someone I trusted. So again, if you're tight on funds, this might be the way to go. Don't go all crazy on bedding. It's a waste. You need a mattress, a sheet, maybe a sheet saver and that's it. Add a crib skirt if you want to prett-ify it.
Dec 1 is drawing near!!
I agree!
I love the crib. In fact, my sister is going to use the same one in her daughter's nursery!
My opinion...I would do the crib you show (I LOVE LOVE LOVE my changing table and use it every single day)...then do the shelving system in the closet for extra storage!
Cannot wait to see your finished product!!
