I've been away from the boards for a bit, because frankly, I've been so stressed & sad. My MIL was diagnosed with stomach cancer in May, had chemo, went into remission in October, and then all of a sudden was in the middle of fighting for her life this month. She spent her last days in a hospice center surrounded by family & friends. She was still a tiny bit alert the first 2 days she was there, and thankfully I was able to take Cassie. It brought great joy to my heart that she was able to recognize Cassie and to see the big smile it brought to her face. I'm saddened that my daughter won't grow up knowing her Grandma.
My DH & I weren't super close with her for a lot of reasons (mostly childhood related) but it doesn't change the sadness that we feel in our hearts. I urge all of you to hug your parents this Thanksgiving.
It's going to be a tough couple of days for us with Thanksgiving tomorrow, the rosary, and then the funeral on Monday. And to top it off, I'm fighting a very painful ear infection and strep throat.
I'm not exactly sure why I'm pouring all of this out here, so I guess I'll end it here. Thanks for lending me your ear........
Wishing all of you a Happy Thanksgiving with your loved ones.
Re: My MIL passed away :(
Oh I am so sorry
Close or not, it DOES still hurt and is so sad when one loses such a key family member. Especially when you have a little one and it's their grandpa or grandma that has passed.
Wishing your family much strength. May your Thanksgiving still be special in some way, even if it's special because you're all pulling together, expressing love and being there for each other.
*Hugs*
