My boss loves UK men's basketball, so for Xmas, our team is going to try to buy 2 tickets for him (specifically the Saturday afternoon game b/w the Louisville Cardinals- lower level tickets, or whatever best tickets we can get him.) They go on sale on Wed 12/9 @ 6pm.
I know I can purchase them at Ticketmaster, but I had a few questions:
1. Is Ticketmaster the best place to get them? If so, should I do online or call?
2. Are game tickets difficult to get? (aka, should I be waiting on the computer like a hawk and buy them right @ 6pm?)
3. Any tips?
4. Another game we would consider would be on Sat 1/9 @ 4pm vs. GA Bulldogs... would this be popular?
Re: UK Men's Basketball game tickets...
I think Ticketmaster would be your best option right as they go on sale, but they are going to be VERY hard to get. UK has already announced that some games will sell out before they even go onsale to the public, because all the tickets will be used up by students and season ticket holders. I would say Louisville has a good chance of being one of those games. So, yes, I would log on right as they go on sale to try and get tickets.
If that fails, Ebay is your next bet. Obviously, this will be more expensive, so you all would have to decide if it was worth it.
Most of the tickets that they sell on ticketmaster are student tickets that are leftover. These typically tend to be in the upper level. On a rare occasion are they lower level. The entire building except for the student sections are season ticket holders.
I highly doubt there will be Louisville tickets as this is on the biggest games of the season. You can always get them on ebay, craigslist, etc- but you will pay a higher price.
The Georgia game would be easier to get, but then that is the first game of the conference - so it will be a big game as well. Really, there isn't a bad game with it being Calipari's first season.
I would check with season ticket holders if you know of any, uk alumni clubs (they get a batch of tickets to disperse to their members), or a current UK student who would be able to purchase the tickets for guests before they are even released to ticketmaster.
