Most annoying PG related comment?

Baby will come when he/she is ready - well duh but that isn't helping me feel better, now is it?

You're tired now? just wait until the baby gets here - I get that...but it doesn't mean I don't get the right to be tired now!

Are you sure it's not twins? (LOL Jen) - Well after 3 u/s and seeing my Dr. over 15 times now...what do you think? Thanks BTW for calling me huge.

This was on the 3rd tri board and some of them are really funny...anyone want to add their own? Smile

Re: Most annoying PG related comment?

  • "I guess it's true what they say that women's faces change when they are pregnant, yours looks fatter."

Not a comment but "Was it planned?" -- I'm continually astounded by this one.

"Sleep now, because you won't ever get to again." --  um, yeah, thanks. I haven't really slept well for weeks now, so that's not really practical information and furthermore, do you think I'm a dumb ass?

Another question, not comment but "Do you know when it happened?" -- yes, do you want the details???

Any and all unsolicited advice pretty -- DH doesn't even want to come around any of my friends because of it. They keep giving him advice also.

  • I also got the "you look HUGE" comment" as well, "Are you sure it's not twins??" Near the end of my pregnancy (although she came early) I lost it on a few ladies at work and it def shut them up.

  • I wish people told me I was huge :( I didn't get that big while pregnant and so I got a bunch of people asking me, "Are you sure there's nothing wrong with your baby? When my wife/sister/friend was 38 weeks pregnant she was way bigger than you are." Even strangers in the grocery line up would ask how far along I was, get surprised when I told them 40-ish weeks, and then proceed to ask if there was anything wrong. I was so frustrated by that. Even if there was something wrong (which there wasn't, I just carried small), do you think I want to discuss it with strangers?

  • I keep on getting "Are you pregnant again, or is this the longest pregnancy ever?"

"Wow you are popping kids out quickly!"

"you are going to be busy, are you sure you will be able to handle it?"

  • "You shouldn't have that piece of chocolate. Caffiene is bad for the baby"

it only happened once, but seriously... it was a teeny piece too, not like I was chugging a case of red bull!

  • It wasn't so much annoying as it was kinda of funny.  But being the whale I was I was standing in Wal-Mart looking at movies and an employee came up to me and said, "Please tell me you are due any day now.  It hurts to look at you. Please sit down"

The ones that really annoyed me were:

"You shouldn't lift that!"  As I pick up a grocery bag that has milk in it or pick up a 12 pack of diet coke.

And just after the baby was born, "Are you sure you weren't diabetic?  How was your blood pressure was it high?  How much weight did you gain were you over eating maybe?" to which I finally screamed at some poor person who asked me for the millionth time, "SHE WAS JUST BIG!  WANT STATS FINE!  My blood pressure was if anything a bit low but not really,  I have excellent blood pressure.  My blood sugar was fine.  I think it might have come up a few times considering the checked my blood sugar like 11 times (seriously my GP did a finger prick every time I saw him).  I gained 12 pounds and delivered an 11lbs baby.  I don't think I was over eating since I had morning sickness for 9 months and the doctor actually told me I should try and eat more.  She was just big, there are big babies in my family and my husbands so genetics happened and there is nothing wrong with my child. So shut the front door!"

Um, uh oh. I was off chocolate for about 3 months and now I can't get enough of it. Wonder what that person would say to me :D

The question is what you should say to them if they question you!
I'm lucky most of the people I work with are good about "moderation" and when it was halloween I'd get first dibs from the stash because "I'm special"....lol

It's my family that drives me nuts! and the worst part is that my aunt has had 3 kids...the last one is turning 4yrs old....she didn't know about MP or she thinks that I'm going to get HOT...I'm always cold, get me a sweater! You think she'd be more 'open' about what happens.

I just THANK HEAVEN that I have you ladies to turn too!!! Angel

or she thinks that I'm going to get HOT...I'm always cold, get me a sweater!  Angel

Don't rule that out yet!  I'm always cold too.  I work with my blazing laptop on me, wearing sweatpants, long sleeved shirt, slippers, a sweater and a crocheted afghan.

Suddenly (and I mean very recently) I'm an inferno.  I had come home from our errands yesterday simply because I was sweating so much and I couldn't take it anymore.  Well, that and D was really annoying me about the paint.

She probably only remembers being hot cause it's hella annoying!  Hopefully you don't become and inferno too, but at least I'm keeping warm as the weather gets colder!

Haha good point. It annoys me when people make reference to what I eat...or don't eat when I'm pregnant or not, I should prepare answers.

  • My mother is driving me nuts over the whole... "just wait til you have to push that thing out" arg.. thanks tips!

I got "was it planned a few times"... I actually responded with .." was it planned to have sex.. well yes it was...!"

Annoying things are friends and co workers makeing assumptions.. that i can't lift or do soemthing.. or that by christmas I won't fit into my normal clothes anymore...
I am fitting into clothes that were too SMALL before getting pregnant.. I think I have some room to grow still am not showing ..most people who dont know I was preggo commented on my weight lose!

    This.

I'm part of this volunteer committee and we're doing an event in a few weeks and one lady in particular is treating me like I can't do anything. Her offers are nice to carry things for me, pick me up for the even as I have a lot to bring, etc. but it's so condescending how she does it, like I'm incapable, not just pregnant.

  • a woman walked passed me during my last pregnancy and then said to her friend "OMG. did you see how big she was?!"  I was livid, it makes me laugh now thoug.  The worst is when someone asks if it was planned or if you are happy.  I barely know you and you want to know if my husband and I have unprotected sex?
