So I have a coworker that I?ve worked with for the past 1 ? who seems to copy my outfits/clothing quite a bit and it?s driving me nuts. I?m not meaning she buys a similar shirt etc as me, I mean exact replicas. For example I wear a shirt, skirt, and shoes and she will show up to work in a few days in the identical outfit. I?ve also noticed that if someone compliments me on an item of clothing I am wearing well she is around; she will without a doubt buy it. She now has a few of the same pairs of shoes as me, the same coat, and the same hat/scarf set, skirts, pants etc.
People at my work have also made comments about it and asked us if we coordinate our wardrobe as we always seem to be in the same thing. Today she shows up in a black jumper that I bought this past weekend and wore on Monday. Am I over reacting? Or would this bug anyone else?
Re: Would this bother you?
Initially I'd be flattered because clearly you have great taste.
Now I'd just be creeped out.
This, exactly.
You should show up to work in sweats for a couple of weeks.

This.
If this doesn't work you should ask her for fashion advice, tell her you really admire her style and ask if she can give you any tips
Hello SWF!!!!
Yah it would not only bug me but have me freaked right now.
My thoughts exactly...
This would bug me, but I just wouldn't know what to do about it.
Maybe start shopping online (meaning stores not in your area!).
Yeah it's weird, but what can you really do about it?
I like the shopping online idea - if she comes in wearing something that you got from some obscure online shop, then I would really worry.
Thanks for the feedback. I?m also very weirded out by it. I don?t really think there is too much I can do about it. There wouldn?t be a point in addressing it with her as she obviously knows that she is doing it.
I actually have started doing most of my shopping out of town. And when she asks where I get items from I play dumb like I can?t remember.
Haha, I can't believe she has the gall to ask you too!
Tell her, "Oh I got it when I went to New York last summer" or "It was a gift from my cousin in London". I'd love to see her reaction!

Maybe start telling her you bought it at Walmart for when she wants to copy you.
