Our tech team has launched updates to The Nest today. As a result of these updates, members of the Nest Community will need to change their password in order to continue participating in the community. In addition, The Nest community member's avatars will be replaced with generic default avatars. If you wish to revert to your original avatar, you will need to re-upload it via The Nest.

Scary thing that happened to me last night.
I got a new car 2 or 3 weeks ago...
Last night I was driving home (at like 1am) and I braked pretty hard to stop for a light (I got a ticket for going through a yellow too close a month or so ago so I'm paranoid now..).. The brakes locked up..I have never had another car lock the brakes so badly.. and then it seemed like the brake pedal was STUCK down.. I could go forward but i was driving through the brakes.. Luckily I was right in front of a gas station and I was able to drive in there .. I thought I had permanently broken the car..And i thought I was stranded because DH wasn't answering his phone!
Well finally i figured out what had happened. The car was used from a dealership and they had put those big rubber winter floormats in the car.. I don't think they meant for that car specifically and it turns out the floormat had come down over the brake pedal when I stopped quickly! I have NO idea how that happened.. and it shouldn't have.. but it was freaking SCARY. I saw that recall on the toyotas/lexuses for the floormats going over the gas pedal, which obviously is more dangerous.. but this is bad too! DH says that my car is designed so that couldn't happen, but I don't know if I believe him now!
