Poll: Black Friday results

So we had the big question beforehand of where you planned on going.  But where did you actually go?  Dja get up early? Find any excellent deals?

Re: Poll: Black Friday results

  • Much to my surprise, DH did indeed get up with me, and we ended up at Kohls, complete with a McDonalds breakfast, by 6am.  No joke - we have about 15 gifts to get over the next month of so (including birthdays, ugh...) and I'm proud to report that almost (80%) all of them were taken care of for about $150.  PLUS Kohls had that cool thing where you get $10 for every $50 you spend, so we have $30 in Kohls certificates to use next week to knock another gift off the list.

Also went to Sears, just to browse.  Ended up finding a good deal on a  decent bedding set.  I knew we needed one, but I wasn't actively searching.  Finding this was a pleasant surprise!

My only disappointment was New York and Company - my favorite store.  I just don't like their diggs this season.  Total bummer, because everything in the store was 50% off.

  • We were going to go, but when DH woke up this morning he was really sick.  Three hours at the doctors, and we found out he's got swine flu ... yuck!  So I've been shopping online most of the evening! :)

  • remember i said i was just going to watch the crazies...well my DH decided to send me on a quest to Sears at 3:30 AM to get his dad a craftsman tool chest that was 99.00 50% off and I also got my dh a drill he wanted for 39 bucks. Soooo I waited in line that early and I got both!!! Then went to JCpenney and victoria secret and bought myself a bunch of stuff as a reward lol I also bought my dad a couple gifts.

I surprisingly have no crazy shopper stories to tell unfortunately. The only funny convo I heard was while waiting in line. Two gangster guys were looking at skinny boy jeans and the one guy goes "you were these?" the other guy says "heck no...u gotta train them early to wear these." (talking about his u know what) LOL!!

  • I did get up, I went to Walmart, Target, Menards & Maurices. I got quite a bit of stuff. I got a couple people done today so I'm happy. I bought a couple things for DH and a couple things for me. One of my favorite things was this wicker basket set I got at Menards for myself.

I didn't get multiple things I would have liked too but oh well. :) Hope everyone got good deals!

  • I did go...we got to the malls around 445...we weren't the 3am shoppers. I was disappointed with some of the deals. Usually I can find at least half of DH gifts, but I was not impressed with the deals. I did end up going to Target this year and even though the line was around to the back, it only took about a half hour to get to a register. I got MIL and my mother digital picture frames and we are uploading wedding pics to it. I am exhausted now though! We put up the tree and decorated and now I am ready for bed!

  • We went shopping today, but not early.  We went to Bed Bath & Beyond around 2:00 in the afternoon, Target after that, and Old Navy after that.  As far as I can tell, all we missed out on was 20% off at BBB because the coupon was only good until like 10am.  It would have been about $25 for us.

We got presents for my mom, our nephews, and some clothes.  I thought Old Navy had the best deals.  We got there around 5:00pm and it was kind of a mess because everyone had picked through everything, but there were plenty of things left.

  • We did go out, but not until after one.  Thankfully, no one seemed to know the SSA office was open today--so I got in and out in about 3 minutes for the name change.  Then we went to Walmart, and although the sale started very early in the morning, they still had TONS of stuff.  So, I got my Cricut Expression!  We also found a 10$ Wii game.  We went to our optometrist and DH got a pair of glasses, we hit up Michael's for 1 Cricut cartridge and a ton of paper and ribbon, and we went to Williams-Sonoma to get the pressure cooker we've been eyeing.  Today was a success (and we got to sleep in).
    Matt loves Munkii!!!
  • Left my house at 3:30 to meet my sisters at Kohl's for 4am.  Got a great deal on a down-alternative comforter, a fleece blanket and some nice holiday table linens.

Then, I went to Sears by myself and got a sheet set, comforter set and the $99 tool chest pp mentioned.

I was back home and snuggling with DH by 6am. The best part was that I didn't spend a single penny of our own money!  These are the two stores we registered at and had enough gift cards from the wedding to cover it all!  Party!!!Yes

  • ha, munkii, I went to the SS office yesterday too- so fast! I was in and out in less than 10 minutes. My mom used to work there and I remember her saying it was always SO slow Black Friday because no one knew it was open. Nice!

I didn't go out shopping early, but I went to Michael's later in the day and got some good deals on holiday decorations. We went to Target too and got some things we needed for the living room. I also went to the Dollar Tree and I got candles and more decor and a bunch of things I need to start wrapping gifts, whoo!

I did get some great deals on amazon.com this week though. I put a big dent in my shopping then, and I love the free shipping!

  • I picked up my BFF and we were at Target by 6:00 a.m. We were going to go earlier, but my alarm didnt go off. :( Then we hit khols, old navy, and Home depot. Had a little breakfast to recharge the batteries and off to Old TIme Pottery. We hit up the mall after that, home depot again, and bed bath and beyond. We didnt get home until 5:00 p.m. I wrapped all the gifts I bought took a much needed bubble bath w/ an ice cold adult beverage and crashed. I finished all of my christmas shopping except for the gift cards I am giving out. All in all a great day!!!! Now for today we are headed to see the Rockettes!

  • I should have went shopping.... and I should have went to the SS office! I woke up at 3am then decided last min not to go:(

  • We were in the ocean for black friday.  BUT DH went with me to Rehoboth outlets on Saturday which was probably just as bad as Friday.  They had coach bags for like $100 and I mean the BIG ones...I think DH snuck and got me one, but that's just wishful thinking.

  • I got up a 3:00 and was out the door at 4. First stop was the wal-mart that is 45 min away from us because it was about the half way point to the mall we were going to. Hit the mall at 6:00 and my mom dropped me off at home at 2:00. After about a 20 minute power nap it was time to get ready for an anniversary party for DH's aunt and uncle's 25th. It was definitely a long day.

  • I stayed home friday and got some deals online.  I got a $88 storage cabinet for $44 and a $120 pots/pans set for $69. I ended up in town saturday night just cause I was bored and most places still had lots of sale stuff left.  I got nice new pillows from walmart for $7.  If I had more money I would have bought more, there were certainly some good deals.
  • We got up at 4:15am and was in the Target parking lot by 5am. With coffee in hand haha, got our pots and pans set, and 2 really nice warm hoodies. For some reason could not find the picture frames I really wanted. Oh well its not that big of a deal.

Also went to Fred Meyer and got our socks, gloves, coat for my older daughter. A new flat screen monitor, a crockpot and tupperwear. Came out with a few extra's but was worth it.

Back home by 7am and started to move into our new house that same morning!
