where to buy henna?

I'm going to Yorkdale tomorrow, and would like to pick up some henna... do you think there's a store there to buy some? If not there, I could stop at Pickering Town Centre. I'm also interested in buying a bindi... any advice of stores that sell those?

TIA

Re: where to buy henna?

  • Hmmm...I could ask my SIL when I see her tomorrow but it wouldn't be in time for when you are a Yorkdale.

In the meantime check out this website

  • This is the only place that comes to mind:

  • thats a great website, Danielle... thanks so much!

Its unfortunate, this Tuesday night I've planned a family GTG in celebration of my grandfather's (would be) 75th birthday (he passed 10 yrs ago)... but Tuesday night is also the night of my full moon ceremony, which is on Gerrard - right where all these places are... and I've got to miss the FMC.

but thats a great resource for the future!

  • That's really sweet and thoughtful that your family is celebrating his 75th birthday!!
  • I know they used to sell henna at Lush.  I used to use that to dye my hair.  Not sure if they still do though.  If they don't it's always worth the time to stop in there....

  • Middle eastern [owned] variety stores sell henna for skin and hair. ?Some may have bindis as well. ? It's where I've had my best luck in the past.

  • As the wife of a Moroccan guy I have more boxes of henna than I can handle.  I used to do my hands/ankles a lot.  He thought if I don't that "people will think I don't take care of you". heh.

I'll never put the stuff in my hair.  I've seen what it does to hair long term.  ::shudders::

Too bad you weren't closer, I'd be happy to throw a box or two your way!

Do you have a good recipe?
