Can you recommend your orthepedist (sp)?

Not sure if that's who I'd see for my back but it's not getting any better and I am so tired of being in pain 24/7.

Thanks!

Re: Can you recommend your orthepedist (sp)?

  • I saw Brett Bankston. I liked most of the doctors at the BR Orthopedic Clinic (it's on Bluebonnet).

Have you tried Physical Therapy? The docs at that clinic will probably send you to PT first. There is a PT clinic in the same building, I went to that one too, and really liked it.

Bankston may be hard to get an appt with right now b/c it's football season, and he is the bone doc for LSU football.

While Bankston's bedside manner was not the greatest all of the time, he really knew was he was doing, and he was not quick to rush surgery - like many bone docs are.

ETA: I did not go for my back. I had a couple of knee injuries.

  • I saw Dr. Hubbard at Oshner clinic in front of  Baton Rouge General-bluebonnet, I love him. He did my grandmas surgery on her arm and Did my friends knee surgery and she also loved him.
  • Bankston operated on DH's knee a couple of years ago. He liked him, but I think it was mostly because he is the ortho for LSU. It was a nice office. Maybe see if one of the other docs can get you in sooner. You can't stay in constant pain while toting around three year olds all day.
  • Not sure if you thought of/looked into this, but one of my CWs goes to a chiropractor and swears by him.

I was just thinking of that. After reading the responses here I'm wondering if that would be better since it's not a bone problem.

Do you think you could ask your CW her chiropractors name and PM me or e-mail it to me?

I hate doing any of this through the phone book and just picking a name so it's nice to know I can ask you ladies for your advice!

Stacy - it's the worst at work, I wonder sometimes if that and walking around campus just aggravates it more ::sigh::

  • I will ask. I think it's in Prairieville, but I'll find out for sure.
  • I've never done a chiropractic appt before, so I don't exactly know, but I thought they did bone stuff (with all the cracking they do), and not muscular. If you think it is muscular, then I would think that PT would be the way to go.

  • Ditto Ali. I saw Dr. Isaza at BR Ortho Clinic for my neck and back after the accident. He referred me to PT. The PT REALLY helped out. I was in PT for 1 month and they gave me at-home exercises. PT focuses on strengthening the muscles surrounding your spine to help the pain go away. They also helped me with posture, which has helped. Any doctor at BROC is excellent.
